Airbag gone after fixing alarm :(
Hi all,
I was shock when receiving my ride without alarm. My agent should have told me or asked me whether to order the keyless entry from Japan. I thought it comes with it. So, I went to install an extra alarm module. After that my airbag check light keep lighted on. The installer told me its easy to clear the check light by resetting it using the diagnosis tool at my service centre. Went to my service centre, after 1 whole day, they can't clear the check light. Told me to drive first, they will need support from Japan and will call me back once they got reply from Japan. Now my brand new car no airbag. Anyone having the same problem? |

Just to share, my airbag light also came on recently (thankfully before the warranty was over). I sent my 8 to MM and error code said driver side airbag was not powered. Mazda ordered a new airbag wiring harness and still waiting for the part to arrive before they can proceed with the replacement. As far as I know, the airbag light should go off by itself once the error does not exist. You cannot "turn off" the airbag light by resetting. As long as the error exist, the airbag light will be on. You problem seems to be caused by the installation of the aftermarket alarm system. If that is really the case, it will not be covered by your warranty as you have tapered with your car's wiring which caused your airbag problem. Hope that is not the case for you.

check the connectors under both the seats. if loose, the airbags light will light up. was fiddling to DIY moods light to tapped power from the airbag, but on second thoughts run power wires, safety first.

could be dirty or loose connectors???figure out which ones are the connectors and make em tighter of just give em a good cleanin with electronic cleaner....dont know...

the alarm installer might have messed up something else...go back to him to have wiring re-checked and fix the issue

Thanks guys for all the advise :)
The alarm fixer keep telling me that it can be reset using the dianogsis tool. :spank: I gonna go back to him and ask him to remove the alarm that he has installed and ask for refund!
