We're starting to build a drivers list for the Cayuga track event signup on the June 7th Sunday.
We have the track on Sunday from 5pm - 9pm!


All Beginners are welcomed!


A little background -

Cayuga Toronto Motorsports Park. Located in Cayuga, just south of Hamilton, Ontario, this developing Motorsport complex can be configured as two smaller circuits of 1.2 and 1.8 km each or one large 3 km road course. We will use the 3 km circuit. The paved surface is a safe, flat design with good run-off room (no barriers or guardrails) and excellent sight-lines. The course has ample straights, challenging large and small chicanes, tight 90 degree and sweeping high speed turns. A truly good technical course.
It is a great learning track with two long straights, 11 challenging turns, safe run-off everywhere, and a separate area for exercises.
We usually have a briefing prior to getting out on the track, followed by a few warm up laps, then lapping for the rest of the day. "Lapping" refers to just that, doing laps. For beginners group, Passing is STRICTLY prohibited except on the back straight, and only when the person in front of you has allowed you by by signaling you to pass. We reserve all rights to kick people off the track that are driving dangerously and/or aren't listening to track marshalls.

For first time / beginners who needs an instructor, email "info@Touge.ca" with your registration above.
The instructor will be with you in the car the whole time in the event on the track until you are signed off to go onto the track alone.

Helmets are strongly recommended for safety reasons, you will have to sign a disclaimer at the track, for those who do not wear helmet and not following our lapping rules, the participants take full responsibility for their action. (if you have helmets, it won't hurt to bring them up).
Note: Helmets are MANDATORY for convertibles.


Format: Two groups - Advance and Novice

- Advance group drivers will be starting at the beginning, 25 to 30mins each session, turnover to Novice group drivers. No lunch or dinner breaks in between. All drivers must follow facility and our track rules, passing rules, marshall workers' flaggings and instructions.

- Passing rules, point by passing / signal the faster driver to the side for passing.

- Advance group - faster drivers passing anywhere on the track with given signal by the slower drivers, No Signal No Passing!

- Novice group - faster drivers only passing on the straights with given signal by the slower drivers, no apex/corner passing. No Signal No Passing!

I've read that the S2 front irons have more reinforcement in the casting at that upper dowel. Is the S2 Front iron compatible with the rest of the S1 motor parts? Is it worth me trying to track down down one of those irons for another shot at getting my car back on the road? I reckon I'm just barely at the power threshold to crack it in the first place. So if the S2 plate is say 15-20% stronger then that should be fine I'm thinking.

New to the forums, I only ever planned on reading forums rather than posting, but my 8 is having some huge issues and I have no clue what to do.

Starting from the top, I got this car running with a (new to the car, lightly used) Renesis motor about a month ago. It is in the 90's psi on all faces of both rotors. It has been running like a trooper (although struggles to start hot, figured it was ignition, have new ignition system on the way), up until a few days ago. The first symptom was that the dash gauges would suddenly turn off. At first it was only the middle and right gauges. This was the only issue I had with the car that day (It had been having issues with a wacky speedo in the past, but few and far between). On the gravel road back to my house that day, the gauges turned back on, and the car misfired one time.

The next day, I went to take it on a 10 minute commute to work. I tried to start the car and it cranked cranked cranked, wouldn't start. Stopped turning the key. Turned the key again, the car immediately fired up. Thought it was weird but took it down the driveway to the highway. At this point I realized the car had zero power steering, and zero gauges were working. Disregarded and began accelerating on the highway. The car then started misfiring BAD. As in every ten seconds, boom misfire. Of course I immediately limped it home and turned the car off. (In the month leading up to this, the car has taken hour long trips, been driven 400 miles, and has not misfired ever)

The day after, I went out to go find out the issue. Checked my spark plug lines and such, I was worried one may not be plugged in all the way since we had just taken them off to comp test the car the week prior. All seemed well. In fear of a bad connection, I tightened the battery connections. Turned the car on, fired right up. Drove it around a little, mysterious misfire seemingly disappeared. Still no power steering or gauges. Once again on the gravel road my gauges came back to life and my power steering returned. As quickly as they came back they disappeared again. Went to take the car on the highway, was accelerating pretty slowly just fine, as I went to shift into 4th gear the car misfired again. Took it on a 10 minute trip and it did not misfire after that. Gauges and Power steering did not work unless I hit a bump in the road.

I then read the codes. I was shocked to find TWENTY different codes. A code for every single module. I'm freaking out now as something is clearly very very wrong. The car had only had two codes prior to this, which were for the rear O2 sensor due to my CAT delete.

Two of the more concerning codes - (There are a lot)

-u2516-ff

So I pop the hood expecting something is loose. Rooted around the engine bay with no luck finding anything clearly wrong. Turned the car on (fired up first crank) and began messing with things. When I touched the wires that connect to the plugs that connect directly to the ECU, things went very sideways very quickly. Touched the 1st plug, my gauges and power steering came back. Touched the second plug, the gauges and power steering went away again. Touched the third plug... the car revved itself way up to 3k rpm, erratically revved up and down. then killed itself completely. I turned the car back on, the idle is now very rough.Touched (I'm talking LIGHT touch) the plug again. Exact same thing happened again.

I am now stuck on what to do next. The plugs connecting to the ECU are not loose at all. I am confused as to why the car is suddenly doing this after 400 miles being driven, as absolutely nothing has been changed. I don't even have the first idea as to what to do to even begin to fix this issue. Any help or potential solutions are GREATLY appreciated. But what are some key things to look out for before deciding on, I know watching the fluids startup and exhaust are some of the big things, but what about like common rust spots, or other things I might miss without specifically looking for them? Any help is appreciated, I've been looking into getting a rotary for a while, and on tuesday im hoping to decide for sure on whether its what I want, ive got a bit of an idea of the maintenance and stuff required to own one of these, though I can't say im fully aware of it all till I have one.

Also when should I order the parts for a rebuild if I do get it? Just as soon as possible and try and get it to a known condition, wait for certain signs?

I came across what could have been another difference on the Series 2 updated front seat controls (non-R3). The Canadian cars only had the seat back power tilt switch on the driver’s side. From a US 2011 brochure (see photo) it appears that both front seats had this feature on the Grand Touring trim. Just curious if this was the case. I have seen the Australian brochure and their RHD driver’s seat had the feature.

I had a Mazda Motorsports account but the car has been off the road for too long and it expired, I don't have a recent race result to submit to renew the membership.

Hello all drivers,
We have the track Sunday morning from 1pm - 4pm booked, cost will be $240 prepay for each participant. Have the need for speed? Go-Karting ia an increasingly popular, and suprisingly affordable sport. Considered the first step in any serious racers career, karting is an excellent way at developing essential racing skills. Its also a adrenaline rush that can't be matched and a great way ...to make new friends.



Mosport International Karting will provide everything, all you do is show up and drive. If you have your own helmet and groves, bring them.



Everything is provided including the high performance racing kart, track time, damages, fuel, tires, pit crew, mechanic, licensing and training. Speeds of up to 50 M.P.H on a 1.5 Kilometer Road Course Racetrack.



All participants need to bring their own gloves and wear sport/casual shoes,(No slippers!), as no toes/skin exposures.



Helmets/Neck supports are provided or you can bring your own helmets provided that they are qualify the safety standards.



The event provides everything required for you to go racing with the understanding that all participants must dress for the weather with no exposed skin. Running shoes, short pants/long pants (i.e. jeans- no track pants), gloves (any type) and a thick-lined jacket must be worn (i.e. jean or leather-no hooded jackets). Participants must take safely very seriously and understand that this is a professional racing events for beginners of all ages.



The F1K High Performance karts are provided with a 6.5 Honda Racing Engine for all racing class except for the Youth where they race 5.5 Honda Racing Engines.

1 qualifying session

1 pre-final session

1 race session
