Are You Satisfied With Mazda UK?

For you UK folks who've ordered cars, how many of you are happy with the level of customer service from Mazda UK.

RobDickinson 05-13-2003 08:27 AM

Gasp in amazment as Lensman Becomes 'J.D. Power man!'

Anyhow, I'm a bit fed up with Mazda worldwide/euro/Uk and I havnt even ordered yet.

UK have booked their 1 and only car out for months but cant tell us where it is, website has never (as far as I can tell) had any news at all on it.

Least when I phoned mazda they knew there was an RX-8.

I hope those rumors of 2 a month delay are not true....

Wish I could say I was!!

My Dealer's ok though.

Are you expecting anyone to vote yes on this ???

jimbobjoe 05-13-2003 02:41 PM

and then 2 seconds later someone does...:p

ed hall 05-13-2003 04:15 PM

i'm probably the only one that has voted "yes" on this vote! But, come on guys, play the game, it's all about waiting....

Sarinda at TW White has being great so far. Being kept in the dark has added to the excitement.

Just think, if we don't know what is going one, can you imagine what the press feel right now? If there is a group of people that want to get their hands on this car, surely the press are aching...?

BlueAdept 05-13-2003 04:31 PM

I had to vote "yes" too... if you'd had more options... like "very satisfied", "satisfied", "slightly unsatisfied" and "very unsatisfied" then it might have been a different thing...

But until I'm faced with Mazda not meeting the delivery dates or somthing else then I'm reasonably happy... I'd love to be pampered, but I've ordered a product and been given a (rough) delivery date... so if I recieve a car on the stated date for the stated money, then they have met their obligation.

sixspeed 05-13-2003 05:12 PM

I'm satisfied too, and my dealer is also T W Whites. I wonder if this is a dealer related problem? I must admit, they had enough knowledge of the car and what is happening re: delivery etc to keep me happy.

You should try dealing with TVR for customer service.. then you'd be running back to Mazda with open arms!

I suspect that it's one of those Canadians who are bitter about the fact that the Europeans have a higher post count ;).

Lensmans question actually refers to Mazda UK, not their dealers who are entirely seperate.

I voted no to the original question as Mazda UK have not been forthcoming with information as we were told, and also my dealings with them over the phone have been less than perfect.

As for the dealers, then I sympathise with them as they dont seem to know any more (sometimes less) than we do, so I would answer that I am happy with them.

Absolutely correct (although my dealer has been poor too but that wasn't the issue). This is purely about Mazda UK and the way they have dealt with pre-orders. Think of it as a petition if that helps.

oilman 05-14-2003 06:22 AM

My vote was based on Mazda UK, my dealer has been very good although kept in the black hole by Mazda UK. (apparantly this is nothing unusual as far as Mazda Uk are concerned)

I get the feeling that it's just the RX-8 team that are the problem. At MotorDriveLive the Mazda crew who were dealing with the driveable cars were all excellent and helpful whereas the two who were looking after the RX-8 were less than helpful and downright annoying in one case. Once the car is delivered and becomes a mainstream Mazda product then I think we might see a difference. The attitude can be summed up thus:

When asked by me why the RX-8 was locked and why I'd not initially been offered an inspection of the interior (as a pre-orderer) the second of the two Mazda reps said: 'Well if you're interested enough to order the car then surely you can wait until september to have a good look at it?' At which point my brain fell out and I had to walk away before Matrix style violence ensued!

I really hope Mazda is reading this, because that's completely inexcusable.

I would have to agree with the main thread here, Dealerships are great but Mazda themselves leaves a lot to be desired.

Sweeteners for us long term sufferers that have now seen the car (i see it this friday at motoexpo) would be nice. Dont know what though? body kits free of charge would be nice.

I voted no as the question was directed at Mazda UK not dealerships.

BlueAdept 06-04-2003 07:58 AM

I said that I would be happy unless the delivery was somehow not met... Hence, now I'm not too happy that the car will be 2 months late and lower power than advertised.

I was thinking today that a nice gesture by Mazda UK would be to offer us all private RXB reg's (so they could send me AP53RXB which along with all the other 53 plates is available for £250 from the DVLA. ;)

Well, as Ive already bought one, they could just give me £250 of the car instead :D :D

rael 06-04-2003 11:59 AM

Not sure I agree with the dealershipos being that good but ths may not be their fault as mazda UK probably kept them in the dark in the same way we have.

But the book is great and has been worth the wait.

Yes, the could also refund my plate cost.

I'm with you MarkW or they could give us free insurance for a year!
