Guy in Montreal has his wheels swiped while away on holiday. At around the same time, a set of RX-8 wheels comes up for sale on Ebay. The seller lives in, wouldn't you know it, Montreal! It's a big city of course but still, smells fishy...

Do Euro RX-8s ship with wheel locks? I know it would only slow a determined thief down for a little while, but it's better than nothing...

Lurcher, I believe wheel locks do come as standard, but I can't remember where I have seen this.

yeah but up there in dundee they would nick the chassis and leave the wheels propped up by bricks.

Almost as a bad as barrowfield Glasgow and ferguslie park in Paisley.

oh and not forgetting the infamous Wester Hailes in Sunny Edinburgh

and Byker in Newcastle!

The trouble in all of these areas is mainly caused by visitors from Hertfordshire... :D :D :D

Wheel locks are standard. As they are in every coutry except canada !

yeah murphy, i collect my monthly doose of temazpan from my dealer in Paisley and rampage around my place of birth. Then come home and find that Watford has a few dodgy areas as well.

i.e. Garston (which is about 3 miles from leafy tory Bushey where i live now)

oh and South Oxhey.

My wife works in Paisley and we live nearby in the south side of Glasgow.

Like all towns/cities there are good and bad parts.
A case of "give a dog a bad name and it sticks" much of the time!

(Mind you, I wouldn't park my car in Feguslie Park overnight!)

Like Glasgow, Dundee has something of a reputation, but there's actually not very much car crime here from what I can gather - although it does have its nasty areas like anywhere else.

The only story I remember hearing was a guy at work - he lives a few hundred yards away from me - who had the rear spoiler neatly removed from his Saxo VTS one night. That's a popular, cheap and quickish "boy racer" car so something of a prime target.

He has an Elise now which you could probably carry off by hand if you brought two or three mates along to help out. :)

You know what, they are actually suppose to come with the car in Canada, mine did, others have as well. Dealers do not want the wheels stolen from their lots so they put them on. It's $30 saves a lot of problems. Not sure why in Montreal they wouldn't give them! odd.

back in the eighties when the 2CV was "fashionable" me and some mates were in Paris, we "picked up" one and carted it round the corner (about 200 yards all in) just for a laff and well should have seen the froggy doing his nut when he found his souped up trash can was missing

On the subject of good ole Paisley, I lived in the "poash" Whitehaugh jist aboot 2 mins fay Barshaw Park. on the hawkhead Road.

I heard that a group of students at Imperial College once dismantled a car, carried the parts, and reassembled it to full working order on a roof or somewhere equally inaccessible. It may be a myth, but I want to believe it.

Just got a mail from my dealer.
Dutch 8ths will not come with wheel locks. We have to order and pay for them ourselves. Seeing the photos I will not have any doubts doing so.
