Enkeis can be found here in Sweden but I havent seen Enkeis Racing Line (RPF1,RPF3 etc..) I know one company tries to get retailer status for them but its hard.

If I can find RPF1 black 17"x9" for a decent price I will get them, otherwise im going for Rota P45 GTR (I know they are cheap knockoffs but actually I have really good experinces with them and you won't cry a river if you brake one rim at track)

bse50 09-13-2009 05:31 AM

Don't buy rotas! Get a set of Oz wheels instead! It is not just about weight reduction.. the wheel qualities are very important too! Try the speedline turini, i like them!

Can you give me an adress to a good OZ dealer? I dont mind getting OZ if they are good priced.

And about Rota I have Rotas on my DD and had them erlier on my CTR, I have gived those rims hell and they dont break so actually I find them quite good for their price.

All rumors about bad quality at Rota is exaggerated.

bse50 09-13-2009 05:38 AM

I was not talking about their supposed weakness but there was a test posted here between different wheels (real vs knockoffs) and the gap was measured in seconds!

You can find good oz wheels on ebay.de , usually less than 900€\set for 18". I can ask you for some good magnesium Oz wheels that my mechanic uses for his race cars. 17x9 but they are a bit expensive!

Finding them is not a problem, the price is :)

I find that hard to belive, its mostly Volk etc owners that tries to convince them selfs that they haven't thrown their money in the sea ;)

If you don't mind asking I would be happy to get a price for some nice OZ wheels.

There's always a limit! Volk, Advan, BBS etc are good wheels but overpriced. Getting some Oz or Enkei wheels is a wonderful choice.
Are you sure that you want me to ask the price for the magnesium wheels? they should be well over 2000€\set!

fastlaneracing 09-13-2009 05:52 AM

ooh, thats too mutch. Im not a raceteam with factory backup you know ;)

Im looking for decent wheels with decent prices, if I buy too expensive wheels I would be freaked out about taking them out to trackdays.

Do you have adress to more human priced OZ? im not a fan of buying on ebay.

bse50 09-13-2009 05:57 AM

Well there's an italian ebay seller on ebay.it that has got good prices, 900\1000€ per set of 18x8 wheels or so. He is fine.
The magnesium wheels are awesome but are really expensive and not worth the cost if you don't have to win :)

Yeah I got mine at tirerack, they did not have black in 17x9 so I'm just going to paint mine.

fastlaneracing 09-13-2009 10:58 AM

Do you mind saying what you payed for them inc. shipping cost? I find it hard to see prices for rims at that site somehow.

StuttgartRX8 09-13-2009 11:51 AM

The wheels are $250 a piece and I paid $1128.60 total with shipping. They should be here this coming week so I post pics when they come.

The First one will be made out of sheet metal for testing and then the final one will be carbon fiber for strength and Lightweight purposes.

Have you looked into this thing?:

they make carbon fiber and frp versions, the second one is 340 euro shipped
I wonder if that panel/diffuser can give you any real gains in downforce/colling...

I'm actually making a front diffuser for bring air out of the engine bay in a vacuum effect.

fastlaneracing 09-13-2009 04:17 PM

I think that will be minimal gains from that one above.

bse50 09-14-2009 05:17 PM

Both setups will provide minimal gains, a vented hood with some useless engine ancillaries removal will probably the best solution, especially if in combo with an open front grille ;)

StuttgartRX8 09-15-2009 07:40 AM

I'll post my setup tomorrow night after I get my car adjusted for the track this coming weekend

StuttgartRX8 09-16-2009 06:09 AM

My current track set up for this weekend at the Nurburgring and tomorrow at Hockenheimring.

18x8 with 245/40-18 at 30psi to start off with
Bilstein PSS9's lowered 20mm front and 30mm back
Front Setting 2
Rear Setting 3

Alignment
Front Camber -1.4 degrees
Toe -1/8"
Rear Camber - 1.8 degrees
toe - 0

fastlaneracing 09-18-2009 11:23 AM

Im looking forward to an analyse of your thoughts about your setup after your super cool track weekend.

Have you tracked with PSS9 Before?

fastlaneracing 09-18-2009 02:38 PM

As it's friday I share some short clips of my car, in the first clip you see a corner that sets my car into understeer. It does look perfect on the clip but its strongly understeers...

Next trackday is next saturday, I will test different tire pressure bse50. =)

StuttgartRX8 09-20-2009 06:12 AM

The Hockenheimring day was ok, I really don't like the track very much and there was way too many idiots driving on it.

The car was solid in the turns and I think the Bilsteins were just right for that track but a little too stiff for Nurburgring.

I changed the settings on the front to 5 and rear to 4. I was able to run the car 3 times on saturday morning and it did very well. I wasn't able to run anymore because my cat finally gave out.

This was the first time I tracked the Bilsteins. I liked them everything I heard about them was correct I even like them more than the HKS on the Skyline.
