Hi Guys! I am owner of RX-8 FACELIFT. I want to put in my car a front bumper from R3. The problem is that, my car does not have the mechanism that cleans the front lights, so I have to put the bumper out of R3 that does not have this device from the factory. This bumper outside does not have the two square plastic lids just below the lights. MAZDA needs a chassis number from an R3 which is not equipped with the above mechanism from the factory. My problem is that, I can not find a chassis number from an R3 with this bumper. I am also from Greece and MAZDA can do the order only with European chassis numbers. I would like your help guys if we can find a chassis number from R3 which is from Europe and have the bumper I need. Greetings!!

I would just get the little covers for the washers and then glue them to the bumper.

 

I own an R3. US model R3's don't have the headlight cleaners.

 

There might be some confusion here since this is the Europe Forum. OP does not mention where he is from, but one poster is from Winnipeg and the other from Florida. It is possible that US R3, Canadian R3 and Europe R3 have different standard equipment.

 

On this issue, ASH8 has informed me and I thank him for the fact that, R3's imported in Europe and Australia had to have a headlight cleaning system due to specifications where they forced the mazda to equip cars that have XENON lights with a headlights cleaning system . The Mazda fitted all R3's with Xenon and in the RX-8 FACELIFT versions it never placed XENON (at least in European models) and therefore my car has no headlights cleaners.

 

I think Xenon/HID headlights in the US don't require a washer, but almost everywhere else does, like in Canada and Europe. My Canadian GT has HIDs and there are washers below them.

Sport trim doesn't have HIDs, and therefore don't require washers.

 

I have a R3 front bumper here in the U.S (ours don't the headlight washers). If you're seriously interested I'll see what it would take to ship, but I'm sure it won't be cheap.
