Mpg?
I know this must be somewhere but information seems to be changing all the time and the US experience seems to suggest that some of the figures they were quoted look a bit off in reality.

Thought they looked about right personally....
Seem to be averaging ~20 , so that is 24 for UK. I am nearly all motorway so should top that ! Seems OK to me ? Plus if this fuel map thing turns out to be the answer to the missing power (that the engine will 'switch' to a different mapping at a later date) it'll probably be better still. Rotary will be thirsty though , gonna have to live with it. Wont be in Scooby/Evo territory though , and perfectly acceptable for this sort of performance. |
Best figures yet are Autoexpress, as they have tested a UK car on UK roads and averaged 22.4. Im sure they will have revved it as well to test it, so that should be a good indication.
Thats fine by me as its better than my current 17/18 average :) Still no confirmation whether we need standard 95RON, or super/optimax 97/98RON though? |
This may sound strange but since buying my Ford Focus, I've been averaging 33 mpg on normal unleaded. For the past 3 months I've been using Shell Optimax and I've been getting 36 mpg and smoother driveability. I know its not much difference and the Optimax costs more but my Focus prefers it.

Anyone seen this poll on the main forum. I know there's a difference between US and imperial gallons but the numbers still look pretty low.
