Just recieved my copy of the Radio Times for next week, it claims that on next Tuesdays Pulling Power (19th August) on ITV 10:30pm there will be a review of the RX8!!

Good- for those who live in the right TV region!! I'll be watching a documentary on carrot farming.

Hope one of you guys will be good enough to post a review of the review.

Cheers

Hmmm! Carrot farming sounds interesting. When compared with "The Real Coronation Street". Rather have the RX-8 review program.

Anybody know when it's on ITV2, or could one of you wonderful TIVO owners do us a big favour.

AGH Its not on Yorkshire ITV?!?! :o

There are lots of episodes on Granada Men & Motors according to TiVo but none on ITV2. Anyone know if one of those will have the RX8 on?

What does the Radio Times say exactly?

If, like me, you use a Pace Freeview Twin recorder then you'll know all about bugs and it isn't favourable!

As I'm in yorkshire, can anyone record this?
I didn't get to see the 350z review for the same reasons.

I'm sure we'll have plenty of happy forum members if someone posts the video review

I assume that you guys know that the "Big Tivo Favour" we're refering to is to record it on your Tivo... and download it onto the PC as an MPEG file and post it on MY FTP server.

Yes, you CAN do that... you first need an ethernet card for the Tivo (Yes, they do exist... and better you can get the channel listing over broadband with it)... and then some slightly modified Tivo software will allow you to download the programs onto your PC...

No, I don't have a Tivo because they stopped selling them before I got round to it, but Yes, I do know people who have then and have done this... Sadly, none of them are in the right TV regeon...

Hi Guys,

My first post! And possibly a helpful one!

If you want to watch another ITV region (to perhaps watch the Rx8 review) and you've got a sky box then your in luck.

Goto Services, Add channels and enter in the following details:
10.832, H, 22, 5/6 - then press search and a list of ITV channels will appear. Select the channels by pressing the yella button and press select when completed.

Repeat the above steps with these other settings:
10.891, H, 22, 5/6
10.906, V, 22, 5/6

This will give all the ITV regions (differing regions per frequency).

When you want to watch the channel, goto Services, Other channels and select the ITV region you want.

Only 2 issues with this.....

1. No personal planner or program listings are available so you'll have to put a post-it note on the telly to remind yourselfs.

2. Sky sometimes resets the additional channels so you might have to go through the setup process again.

I've done it on my Grundig box and it worked perfectly. Tueday 19th here we come!

I hope this helps,

Stuart

Not wanting to be unkind, but what is Michelle Newman's background?, as after watching a couple of these programs she seems just to be reading from a script and doesnt give the impression she is an enthusiast in the same way as VB-H is.

Maybe Mr Rutherford will have already told her what to say anyway :D

MarkW, you've probably watched Central News where Michelle Newman was a newsreader. She knows as much about cars, as my next door neighbours' cat! I know, from reading Autoexpress, that M Rutherford has driven the car so maybe he has written the script for her, but still she carries no street cred points. And if we're really unlucky, she'll mention Formula Women.

AnilS.

P.S. I'd better get out the video instruction manual, as I'm on holiday next week. Just my luck.

I have Sky plus so if I will record it, I will then probably keep watching it over and over again like I did with the top gear 10 second preview.

Although I have never done it there is a facility of copying it, I could theoretically do this and then put onto a website. Does anyone know how easy this would be?

I thought that SKY+ specifically made this impossible... but if anyone can tell me how to get an ethernet card in a skyplus and copy the video's to a PC then I know a lot of people who will buy them!!!

I'll try ti get it onto an FTP site or even Kazaa lite as soon as the episode has finished.
Most people will be watching it on the night anyway, but I shall be keeping the Tivo recording and just keep watching and watching.

That's the next mod on my list. I've just finished disk upgrades, to up the tivo to 240GB of space (180 hours !)

But until then I can't get anything out of it. I don't have a capture card on my PC either, so the analogue route won't work either.

If you get the thing as an MPEG then feel free to upload it to my FTP server, I'm happy to mirror it

ftp.fsck.co.uk
U/P = rx8/mazda

You'll need to put it in the "incoming" directory

Titanium Grey, if you've got a sky box then goto page 1 of this thread and follow my instructions. We can then all enjoy it and have a "door and a half" wide grin next Wednesday.

I've been doing some research on the SKY + to Digital recording and found the following site useful which deals with Tivo as well
For fellow gadget lovers - another forum to take up all that spare time you don't have!
