So what could I be doing wrong ...
 

Ok So I was out on the XXXX airfields last night with a few friends.

Temp: approx. 60 degs
Surface: level cement / dry
weather: clear


car is running good.

first turn is a pretty sharp 40 - 60 degree left turn


next turn is a another left ... similar

3rd turn is a right ...

first issue here ... about 6000 rpm in 3rd gear braked/ quick to the left then hard right ... issue the car almost stalled bogged and then stalled finally did a nice little 180+ some ....

I already know I have to replace my fuel pump .. that is not the question ...

At a loss of power what would anyone recommend me doing to get her strait and not spin out in order to put her in 3rd to jump start the car and continue on with minimal loss of time.

1. Should I have let the car continue in a full 360 then continued
2. Should I have man handled her more but risked damage
3. Id the issue also in my suspension because this is most likely also a wheel hop issue.


Also -- I'm probably leaving a part out .. hard to put into words...

its kinda hard in an rx8 you have to keep the revs pretty high thats where all the power is anywhere from 5000-8500 rpms, I myself am having issues with this but everyone that i have talked has told me to keep the rpms up try that it may help...

Did you pull the TSC/DCS fuse?

Also, if you really pull some tight G's to the left you could have the fuel starvation issue-- You're saying you need a fuel pump? Might help your problem abit getting that done.

well torque causes the wheels to "slip" but the horse power cause's the wheels to "spin" after the slip
too much spin get you your 180*,,, you gotta cause the "slip" by kicking the clutch or hand brake then baby your gas pedal,,,

also the 50/50 weight balance also makes it harder to initiate a drift. IMO

yeah make sure you are high in rpms may have too slip the clutch a little

more gas

Original fuel pump and low gas level while this was happening I bet?

Or go faster

Why would he pull the fuse?

cant you just hold done the DSC button for 10 seconds to do a hard block on it? (rather than the toggle on off)

I've read somewhere that that this method of turning it off, means that it can onl be re-engaged after turning the car off.
