some parts for sale

Hey all, ive got some parts that i think its time to get rid of.

Temp control switches. i have 2. they were both broken (with the broken solder problem). ive fixed them. all mint, no cracked buttons or anything. say 30 bucks each.

One headlight level sensor. i cant remember which one it is, but they are interchangable...its just the brackets that determine which goes where. these suckers cost like 400 bucks from mazda. ive opened this one up and its mint. I used some dielectric grease on it to keep it that way and sealed it up so it should never let moisture in and corrode like they all eventually do. Say 50 bucks for this, negotiable i supose.

Greg,

How come you're parting your shocks/springs?

REV-illusions 01-20-2010 02:45 PM

*sniff sniff* Smells like someone doesn't want to go to the track with us this year :(

Oh.. and for those interested in this I recommend that you get the entire package if you can. One of our instructors during the track days last year made the comment that this setup made greg's RX8 one of the best handling car's he's ever driven, and by far the best handling RX8 there!

its not about want man. beleive me. but meh, im rubbish anyways. ha

andy, i have many reasons for selling this stuff. the short answer would be no track time next year = no need for the suspension upgrades.

Interested in the sway bars for sure, and possibly the shocks/springs.
Willing to ship, and do you have pics? (Would like the see the rust etc.)

Thanks

im willing to ship, however i dont do paypal or any of that crap. also, you'd be paying for the shipping costs, which i would assume would be pretty high for the bars as the boxes would be a fair size and the weight on the springs/struts is substancial. I'll try to get you some pics tomorrow.

Redshift 01-20-2010 07:52 PM

Thanks Greg. I'm used to paying for shipping. I've become numb to it, but I understand if you have preference for local sales.
Weight is usually the enemy and I doubt the sways are that heavy. (I had splitter come US Post before.. that got some looks at the post office...)
But, it's not that bad if it goes ground. I think my shocks/springs/coilover sleeves for my RX7 were only around $50 -100 shipped from Ottawa.

hmm. well, that being said, i think the sale for the suspension goodies is currently pending leaning more towards definitly spoken for. I would really rather sell locally, hope you understand man. I dont normally like to be "that guy" but shipping this stuff is gonna be a real hastle, especially with me not using paypal or any of that and with me working 6 days a week, its hard to sort it all out.

Redshift 01-21-2010 06:53 AM

No worries Greg. If you prefer not to ship, and you have a local buyer, go for it. It's your stuff. No hard feelings at all. I really shouldn't be spending the money anyway (bad enough I just impulse bought some parts from TurboJay.)
Having to deal with the shipping is just the price I pay for not having to live in Toronto. :)
When I got my motor built at RPM, they didn't do PayPal either. email money transfers via your bank are where it's at.

That's bull and you know it. You have better control over your car then most do.. you just don't like going up into the scary bits of the car with out the TCS etc.. it's understandable.. you're one of the more grounded folks and you don't drive beyond your means (which as far as I'm concerned is a smart thing).. you just need a bit more practise to become comfortable with the upper limits of the car... once you have that down... unstoppable :p

hopefully you'll still be able to make it out to one of the meets this year.. or even a track day... even if it's a DDT event on a Sat or something... you can crash on my couch rather then facing the long drive back that night...

haha, thanks man. ya, i didnt often push the car right to the edge. in fact, it takes coneman in the right seat to get me there haha. in any case, i know i wont be tracking this year. and if im honest, i've really lost interest in cars in general. I havent washed my car since the last time we were all at mosport. im pretty sure that was in september. thanks for the couch offer. we'll see what happens come spring time.

Footman 01-21-2010 04:03 PM

Lost interest in cars? Oh no.. that is a fundamental issue.. what happened Greg??? Losing your passion into something is serious stuff!

wcs 01-21-2010 05:17 PM

Interested in the spring/coil setup.
I'll come and pick them up too

wcs 01-21-2010 05:19 PM

did i mention i will pay in cash?

rotarygreg 01-21-2010 05:52 PM

wcs, you'll have to get in line behind the other locals that have PM'd me already. i'll let you know. however, they are pretty much sold. I'll let everyone know if the deal doesnt go through.

ZmFnZm 01-21-2010 07:43 PM

poor poor greg........

2hit6 01-22-2010 11:39 AM

Hey Greg...I'm interested in the Temp Contorls...since the one in my car is sort of screwed-up...

Are you in the GTA anything soon? Where and when can I pick them up? I work downtown and I live up in Markham.

:( this is a sad day...we can't lose grasshopper!! It's just the winter blues, wait for the warm days ahead where all you want to do is drive your 8. U better not disappear or a crew of 8's will be comin lookin for you.

What was your spring set up again? I should look into it for this upcoming summer, since I'm not driving my car in the winter.

2hit6 01-29-2010 01:05 PM

Hey greg...did you get my pm? Let me know if your still interested in shipping the temp control
