ON Where's the Sauga Crew?

Hey Everyone!

I just wanted to introduce myself, I live in Mississauga. I just bought a 04 Black RX8 GT on the weekend and enjoyed my first actual long distance ride to work today (I live 84km away from work)! I'm looking forward to all the fun she will bring me for many many years to come ! If you guys have any advice for a RX8 newbie, feel free to drop a post. For example, which dealership's the best around my area; I had my first bad experience with Direct Mazda today. Alright, that's all for now.

Cheers,
Christopher

Hi and welcome christopher. as for dealership recomendations, most will suggest scarborough mazda. Great service there especially for enthusiasts. i would aslo recomend where i work, guelph mazda, but i think we are a little far to suite you. enjoy all the time you'll be spending at the gas station....84km twice a day....you will be at the pumps every 2 days. lol. And im not even joking. i hope you read up on the gas milage and are expecting whats coming to ya. haha. Still, im sure you will love your 8. Hope to see you at some events.

Thanks guys for the welcome messages! Ya I totally believe what Greg said, our wonderful 8's drink like BMW Twin Turbo V6 engines... lol

Alright, I might as well drop by Scarborough Mazda tomorrow... I need to transfer the Warranty and get my rear light looked at due to condensation. I work in Whitby... so EVERYTHING's along the way hehe.

Welcome to the addiction!!

While you're at Scarborough Mazda, you might want to check out / ask about a few other things:

1.) COSMOS!!! (It's in the showroom, just outside Al's office)

2.) Have a chat with Al about how to drive / maintain your 8.

3.) Clear corners (If the deal's still on, the price is really hard to beat)

4.) Redline transmission + rear differential fluids.
(You might also want them to do a quick check on your fluids and all.. I know that our brake fluid was almost gone when we bought our vehicle...)

5.) Track tires - Your 8's going to guzzle gas anyways, might as well bring it to the track.

***

Hope you'll love your 8 the way we do, and hope to see you at the track sometime!!

Congrats on the purchase.
That is quite the commute you've got going on. I think you'll be at the pumps every 3 days. Maybe.

The Sauga crew get together once and awhile. Busy lives...

Congrats and welcome!

Scarb mazda the place to go, if out Greg's way hit his up. As others said, talk to Al about the 'right' way to keep her running hard and strong.

Always keep an extra bottle of oil in the trunk Trust me we all do. (and never synthetic).

Come out to some meets and especially to the track, you will love her so much more

Enjoy!

welcome! your gonna enjoy the car, make sure you check your oil every 2-3 gas fill ups, the car does tend to eat oil. Dont turn the engine off if the motor is cold, to prevent flooding the engine, and most important of all ENJOY THE CAR!!!!

Scarb Mazda and Al were cool. He showed me his sick 11,000 rpm red line rx7 and taught me the basics. Good group of people, including the parts/service desk.

I just ordered gasket for one of my rear lights.. i have condensation in it =\

I'm in the Meadowvale area by the way, but to me... Sauga is small enough that it's all the same to me.

I was thinking of getting a turbo timer... (although my 8's not turbo) but it'll keep her running if i really have to turn it off when it's cold.

But ya all my purchases at the moment are to fix anything that needs to be fix first. Have to keep funds for summer tires, winter tires, and tuition when I finish my co-op and go back to school in January.

Again, thanks for the welcome everyone!

mahirn1,

Just by looking at your avatar, I think you stay occasionally in my building. I'm pretty sure I've seen your car parked in the visitors area from time to time.

Doesn't it drive you nuts when you see a specific RX8 everyday but you don't know the owner?

There's this Black RX8 with a body kit (maybe a MazdaSpeed one?) that lives down the street from my house, I pass by it at least twice a day (to and from work). I purposely slow down to see if I have a chance to say Hi lol... but ya so far a failed attempt.
