What do y'all want? Bringing some life into the club this fall.
Title suggests, in light of this year failing pretty hard. Everytime the fails happen, I can't help to think of Kafka's Law (kinda like Moore's law) on the 50% attrition rate. But this year, it's more like 75% attrition rate. Also Kafka's definitions of "example reasons" cracks me up.
Anyways, I can organize something and volunteer my time, but I need to know what do y'all want to do?

just throwing this out there, but if we want to do a pub / install meet, why not try dave & busters, they have a big parking lot, it's a nice cruise along highway 7 to get there.
just thought i'd pitch that in

I am The One!
Normally an install meet would have to get done at someone's place. Since tools and the odd circumstance will always call upon something you can't bring to a public parking lot.
I haven't been to Dave and Busters at all this whole season.
As soon as I have a few things sorted out with work, I'll have a few more things I'll want to install on both the RX-7 and Miata.
Until then, I'm more than willing to help out anyone else attempting to install something on their cars. I'm always up for a good meet.

If you do an Install meet or group D.I.Y.....i am down. My friends in Cali do the D.I.Y. thing monthly...whenever members have any repairs required...they wait till end of month and 20 people show up on average to resolve 3 or 4 RX8 issues (brakes, tune ups...etc). I can offer my driveway for any D.I.Y. sessions if required.
Other than that, I like the Dave & Busters idea!

So, it looks like people want to do HOTPOT + install meet. i.e Install during the afternoon, hotpot at night.
Got no problem with this except that some non-chinese aren't too keen to try other ethnic delights.
I need to hear from the non-chinese members here on whether they'll actually have hotpot or they'd rather have a "juicy burger and beer"?

seriously ... what is a hotpot?
I'm good to show up at any meet, especially if they are on the weekend, weekdays typically are no good for me.
Not trying to poo poo anything here but two thumbs down on install meets from this guy.
I'll show up at an install meet but I'm not sooo thrilled by them ....
I found them to be complete chaos, too many chief's spoil the pot (or hotpot I guess).
Also its way way WAY to hard to keep track of all your tools.
Install meets only work if they are "Mini Install Meets" where there are only 2-3 people focused on one task at a time imo

Oooo I hate to knock something without adding something positive.
Anyone interested in other events the group could meet for like:
1) Hockey
2) Baseball
3) Other entertainment like the ballet ... nudge nudge wink wink
4) Just throwing it out there .... Medieval Festival <shrug ... just say'n>
5) Group trip to Nassau ....

Well winter time will be hibernation for most of us, we should start up the winter meets by Dub Linn Gate again, recession drinks are back on.
If we're going oriental, I perfer Korean BBQ, like Chako. Or an all you can eat Ribs meet at like Montanas.

im down for anything
however, in choosing to do an install meet, we become limited as to what day the meet may take place since we would have to consider the weather which may or may not be temper-mental at the time.
Either way im down for getting some good food...it's what brings people together apparently.. besides chicks LOL

^^^ I don't mind trying cultural foods, i do like Korea BBQ as well. WCS mentioned a group trip, love the idea, especially if its somewhere where taking pictures of the fall landscape is doable. Unfortunately, for me being in school and working takes most of my free time.
