Hey guys,

Okay, not to steal the thunder of our upcoming meet, here is a great event that we can all go as RX8club to autocross...

Its a weekend thing, priced really cheap and free banquet dinner too!

I went to a similar event when I was sixteen and a set of Yokohama tires...

anyhow, Im going was wondering if Inconsequential, RT, Hitman, Biu and others would like to go too....

 

woops, got to excited, i mean i won the door prize of a free set of Yokohama tires

 

Hell yeah, just need to know in advance so I can book it off from work, wanna plan that for July then? My June is already scheduled, so, other than vacation, I have only weekdays off

 

we're guaranteed at least 4 runs a day i think, includ. dinner i think that is a hell of a deal...

all you good drivers come out....i dont want to stink it up and have people think the 8 is not a fast car.....

awwwwww ****, you've gotta be kidding me... i think i might be able to maybe make it for one day, or part of an afternoon or morning or SOMETHING... i really REALLY wanna come out and see you guys run if you're all going.

sadly, that weekend, i have YMCA stuff to referee, so i'll see how long i can be there

 

yeah, i really want everyone to come out to this autocross....posing our 8's is cool, but lets get together and do what they are intended for, and thats to race!

 

Well, you never posted dates for it before, so, I was thinking you were wanting to rent some time at a track, or area for it and go out and play, hehe, 12 and 13? I will see, but I think I am working both days, I will go if I am not working....

the date is June 12-13, its dirt cheap for all the racing you get, and they throw in a dinner and theres a chance to win prizes...im not hosting the event by the way, it is being sponsored by KUHMO tires...other cars will be there racing...we can go there as a group....and i guarantee we will look the coolest....

RT are you coming out or what? im calling you out...all you 8ters that want to race your car...here is the place....if you want to show off your car in front of other cars and people, here is the place, if you want to test your car to the limit in a safe environment here is the place....if you want to show up as an RX8 group and have people take notice, here is the place....

what stuff do we need to have to be in it? fire extinguisher? do we need special tires? do they sell any track type/slicks tire at the event or we have to use our street tires??

 

you know for the price, even if you go one day, its still pretty worth it, you get dinner man!

no special equipment at all, we need to wear helmuts but i think they supply them

i think you may want to use up one of your sick days on this one....come out for both days...its an organized event!

 

well.... rather not risk it in case someone spots me there LOL (one of my coworker's dad recently bought an 8, think he's ordered those forged mag mazdaspeed wheels too!)
but yea I'll try to make it for the 12th only!
have you tried wearing a helmet in your 8? I put mine on and I feel like my helmet would bang against the top or the sides whenever I tilt or turn my head! I guess that's what ppl were talking about when they wanted no sunroof with the leather seats :p

 

btw, since I can't make it to this event, anyone I've seen at the last meet's free to borrow my helmet (just don't drop it!) for the track day. Just PM me!

i thought since BIU is such a keener on an 8 club, he would actually give a yay or nay to a real racing event...
