Thanks for the great memories!
Well she gone, I official sold my beloved RX-8 this weekend. I really did not want to give her up, but there's not room for two wankels in this person home right now. On the plus side it frees up some cash for my new project the FD.

Someday in the not so distance future I will buy another 8!
And I'll still be around the 8 forum lurking and see all you at usual track days & events.
360ricky say over but not out.

And let the new round of mods begin with Scottish, Negra Modelo Beer and Pettit Racing.

where's the good picture of the FD?? Cheers for getting a red one, I miss mine sometimes.

I will be at a lapping event in canada next summer, hopefully I see you there. I'll bring some modelo, it's cheap in Detroit.

You on the rx7club site? I often lurk over there.

Tweek 10-04-2010 11:01 PM

need some pics of that sexy red FD i see!

Neo 10-04-2010 11:09 PM

At least the 8 went to a fellow forum member.

I wonder what you have in store for the FD... we'll hook up soon and compare notes. :)

RXeckless 10-05-2010 04:26 AM

Thanks everyone for in sharing in my grief & loss of a old friend, she'll truly be missed.
I'll get some pic of the red whore soon with her blingy new wheels and rubber as soon as I get her mounted.(Still not sure about these rims, I bought them on a whim). Started the first round of many mods last weekend with Scottish and this engine is a bastard to work on vaccum lines everywhere, broke one sensor after replacing another but Part Source actually had one in stock. The reason I'm calling her the "Red Whore" is she'll take lots of my money and give back mostly temporary pleasure in return! Yes, Chad I'm on the 7club under the same name & avatar, see my recent post about the switch/sensors f#@k-up.
Cheers

Heres a pic of the wheels (notice the rotor shape in the wheels design ....... bling bling)

I think FD's are best with lipped wheels.

Neo 10-05-2010 08:09 AM

As with any car, getting the lightest wheel without losing strength is the best solution.

Those TSW wheels remind me of the BBS wheels offered on the Spirit R's. The BBS wheels are extremely hard to come by.

Yes, the FD has many vacuum hoses. If you're not careful or meticulous about maintaining the hoses, you'll never get predictable boost delivery.
If you've got any questions, feel free to run them by me.

Rick, Don't be a stranger! I can't wait to see the FD in person! (and drink some Negra Modelo Beer)

Neo! What do you know about FDs? you don't even drive one! :lol2:

:yelrotflm:rofl::beer:

Those rims would alright it the final setup is hella flush! But please have a set of brand name tires. That is the best mod money can buy.

And as far as mods.....in my experience. Enjoy driving the car first and slowly upgrade it. Stick with the tried and true setup and parts. my 0.02

Cheers,

BTW I was thinking of buying your car for my wife next year. Oh well.

Was up at WCS a couple of weeks ago. I was asking about you, since I have not seen you in awhile. Have to get together one of these days for some brews.
Did anyone see Dexter last evening and the beer he was drinking, all psycho's know a great Beer>>>>Negra Modelo Beer.

Leave poor old Neo alone, someday we'll actually see him drive that FD!

TSW Nurburgring RF Black Machined Rims Mirror Faced 18x8.5 235/40/r18 Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 for the street and R1's going on the stock rims for the track, right Al.:suspect:

Neo 10-05-2010 09:16 PM

Just to let you know, the FD's last factory wheel/tire size was staggered at 235/45/17 front and 255/40/17 in the rear.
Fronts were 17x8 and the rears were 17x8.5

It's an ideal configuration for the car. Especially when the factory was making these wheels no heavier than the stock 16's that use to come with it. Very rare for a factory to do this on a vehicle.

You'll quickly realize the stock 225/50/16 size will give up if the car begins to make more power than the stock 255-280hp (at the engine).

For now, get to know her. Ideally you'll want to move up to the lastest staggered size to even things out on the car.

I'll give you more pointers as you progress with the FD. :)
