Scenic (twisty) drives in/around Calgary
I don't get to drive my 8 nearly as much as I'd like, as I take the frickin' bus to work, but on the weekends if it's sunny I usually like to go for a drive.
I've been out to Kananaskis and that's pretty nice, but is there any other drive (preferably) closer to Calgary that you guys can suggest? I haven't really found any super twisty roads like are common in BC.

Well, I can think of a few short bits of road that I always have fun with.
1. Eastbound 16th Avenue offramp to southbound Sarcee
2. Southbound Deerfoot offramp to westbound Glenmore
And if you want a longer drive that has twists, try the 1A highway. Take #1 out to just past Banff, and follow the signs to Johnston Canyon. That's a blast! But watch out for wildlife.

Eastbound 16th Avenue offramp to southbound Sarcee - that's one of my favorites. I take it everyday to work.
Its not in the city, but the Johnson Canyon - Banff Parkway drive is VERY good for the twisties.

Yeah .. Bow valley parkway is nice...in the early spring when there are no RVs.
I take my RX-7 up there every April and have a blast!
Closer to town, there is the back road from Bragg Creek to Millarville that some people like.
Also, you can take the 1A from Cochrane - Canmore and back, although last time I hit a boulder that creased my downpipe and ripped my undertray. A good drive, though.

ooooooooooooooh yes!....excuse me, I need a moment alone! :p
I got charged with careless driving on a highway with 2 other friends while taking a cruise on 1A about 2 years ago. (Of course we fought it in Cochrane.) But just to warn you that Wildlife and Fishery officers are able to give you tickets in their unmarked white trucks! Be careful!

Been there, done that....paid the ticket!
believe it or not one of the most G-Forced and longer on ramps is the on ramp to deerfoot from 17 Av SE. that sucker is like half a mile...
I haven't taken me baby out for a long out of town spin yet, so sure- I'd be interested in a stretch run somewhere.
