Just talked to the local dealership, they just got their suspension of all sales letter today. The salesman read me the letter from mazda canada, which stated that stationary vehicles operated at "high rpm for excessive lengths of time" had experianced damage to components near the exhaust and associated problems.

The letter also stated that no such damage has been reported in Canada on any vehicle.

 

Wooo.... here comes the massive recalls of all our cars. Can't wait, time to downgrade to the Mazda6! Oh joy.

 

So does this mean that RX-8s are no longer to be sold??? or just this dealership? More details please.

 

Everything you want to know is in the MNAO Recall thread in the Issues and Problems area of the forum. RX-8's can still be sold.....just not delivered. The fix is around the corner, more info tomorrow.

 

I really hope it's something as simple as some extra heatwrap.

ya I called my dealership and asked them about this recall this morning. They told me there was no recall and not to worry? They also said getting information off the internet is not a good idea..

So basically they're fine with me driving my car around with potential heat damage? Why does Mazda Canada suck so badly? I don't understand how a corporation of this size does not share information between the countries.. Do they know what email is?? wtf!! Now i'm kinda hoping i have heat damage so I can turn around. . . you know what i'm going to call mazda canada so they know that I know there is problems and they can't throw this back in my face and say i didn't lodge a complaint.. (I really dislike my dealership!!! sorry for the rant

UPDATE: I called Mazda of Canada, they did say all 8's are being held and they're not sure why.. At least now they know that I know!!!
