Mazda_RX804 04-26-2012 06:51 PM

anyone thats going to this meet know how to fix the speaker cutting out issue? I heard its some relay in the speaker amp. I will pay for someone to fix this, its been going on for 2 years and im sick and tired or kicking the door panel for the speaker to come back on.

G_ man 04-26-2012 07:41 PM

Well if you bring relay I can bring a cordless soldering iron and wire solder.
I did read a post about the fix on here but not sure where.

Mazda_RX804 04-26-2012 08:18 PM

Im assuming its this:

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...aker+relay+fix

So you would know how to do it? Is this the relay I have to buy? R46-5D3-12 ($5 range,) Digikey - JS1-12V-F ($1.67

G_ man 04-26-2012 09:01 PM

yup I thinks thats it,burn off old one, install new one
looks straight forward enough. as long as that is the problem.
I sure some one has a multimeter.

The test should also be performed on an engine that is still relatively hot ... so I'm not so sure that removing your plugs too far in advance if the queue is long is a good idea.

That being said ... for example ... if we had 5 cars show up and 5 sets of stands ..
Yes once the tires and plugs are out it only takes a few minutes to do the compression test. You could just knock the cars out one by one in no time.

How the Test is Performed
1) Start the engine and allow it to warm up.
(2) Stop the engine.
(3) Disable the fuel and ignition systems. You should consult your vehicles Factory Service Manual for the correct procedure to do this.
(4) Remove both front and rear trailing spark plugs.

***WARNING*** The sensor module should be hand tightened only into the spark plug hole. Overtightening will damage the rubber o-ring and could damage the sensor module.

(5) Thread the sensor module into either the front or rear spark plug hole.
(6) Connect the TR-01 to the sensor module.
(7) Switch the TR-01 power switch to ON.
(8) Fully open the throttle and turn the engine over for at least 5 seconds.
(9) The TR-01 will display results in realtime and the final reading will be displayed on the screen until the power is switched off.

The following is my estimated Compression Test Schedule
Please show up early.
Especially because I feel the time is way over exaggerated.

Compression Test:
1. maRs - 9:00 am
2. Blackstealth - 9:20 am
3. Rotary-RX8 - 9:40 am
4. Kafka - 10:00 am
5. c_ls - 10:20 am
6. JordysRX8 - 10:40 am
7. SSilver07- 11:00 am
8. Maffu313 - 11:20 am
9. Telek - 11:40 am
10. JRogersRX8 - 12:00 pm
11. FERA - 12-20 pm
12. RX8_Spidey 12:40 pm
13. Rev-illusions 1:00 pm

WCS, is this schedule a go and is it okay to arrive half an hour early.

wcs 04-27-2012 06:52 PM

Schedule is good and is flexible

I will be there at 830am

Mazda_RX804 04-27-2012 07:24 PM

Yeah that lol...

They would be right to tell us to gtfo if they felt like it. Of course if we keep it civil should be okay... Buying pizza would help our case. I'm still totally down for pizza :D

Rotary-RX8 04-27-2012 09:56 PM

Wow those are some large shoes to fill.

It's been awhile since I've done suspension work but it shouldn't be too hard to loosen the suspension bolts ... I hope, the swaybar endlinks can be a bitch.

Short but informative thread

Rotary-RX8 04-28-2012 08:00 AM

People say its easy but im scared to mess with suspension on my car and f*** up the geometry lol.

I Might try to pre load them after work tonight.

Loosen top control arm. Take the Jack and Jack up the whole hub till it lifts the car, measure bottom of fender to bottom wheel lip (bottom of rim) and tighten everything.

Make sure the other side is the same.

This isn't the "TeamRX8" approved method exactly but it should still work and if it doesn't we can try again tomorrow.
