Correct me if I'm wrong, but does this not completely **** up your paint if you decide you want it off? Assuming adhesive is used..

I like the stripe the first vid put in the hood/trunk...definitely a neat and cheap(er) way to change the color of a car.

It won't screw up the paint, but do to the stripes, that part will likely be faded and noticable once the wrap is removed. I started another thread along time ago on an 8 that was wrapped in white that came out great. My only problem with a wrap is that it costs about as much as a decent paint job to get it done professionally.

I've considered it. I love NG but it isn't an easy color to take care of . The quality of the work varies, but the quality of the vinyl seems to be the most important element when getting this done.

carbon wrap= fail, in my opinion

I'd rather spend that $2000-$3000 on real carbon hood, trunk, spoiler

From what I've heard, you can get a full body wrap done for under a grand. (No freakin' way you can get a paint job for that price, if you can hook me up right now!) I dunno about stripes, but you have to assume that'd be less. I'm told there's a company that specializes in doing wraps, here in Toronto, but so far it's heresay, I don't have a name or anything.

The selling point is, suppsedly when you take the wrap off, the paint is intact. Of course, you'd probably need the same guys to take it off properly, so is that worth it? Well, I'd say it probably is, considering the extent you have to go to pull off an actually *nice* repaint. (I'm only just beginning to suspect my Miata in "LE" green mica is not original. They tried real hard, but they couldn't reach every nook and cranny ...)

we have a local guy that does 3000 dollar paint jobs for 1000-1200, he's a pro, but just started his own shop and is trying to form a reputation. Most of his jobs for us are on 05-10 G35's Is250's and TL's. it takes some searching, but you can find GOOD deals.

Chrome? As for cost, we can't guess and it varies depending on many things, call someone who does wraps in your area and ask them.

This is far better than plasti dip and it prevents stone chips.

I have added a clear bra to my bonnet, fender, mirrors and bumper and the same method is used for installation. It peels off without leaving any residue.

I've seen many chrome wrapped cars, and the only one that looked good was a chrome gold GTR.
