Rims & Tires

hey guys!

i'm looking to purchase a set of brand new rims and tires soon and being the girl that i am, i'm a little confused as to what specs i should be looking for that would best fit the car.

currently, i'm looking at BBS RS-GT Rims: 18x8 with 5 X 114.3, 46mm offset

tires are: Kumho ECSTA 711, 235/40/R18 92W

can somebody please let me know if this setup will work? im running on stock suspension btw.

thanks!

Those will fit fine. They will sit almost exactly like stock. I'd say those wheels are a weak fitment and you should go atleast a little more aggressive if you are gonna pay the money for BBS.

Here's a calculator that will allow you to figure out what sizes of rims/tires you can fit onto your vehicle.

http://www.rimsntires.com/rt_specs.jsp

Ideally, your replacement rim/tire combination should not provide a signifficant deviation in terms of total diameter/circumference (which affects your speedometer reading).

e.g. Your set of 235/40/18 tires will have a slightly smaller diameter and circumference (about 2.2%), and as a result your speedometer will be overstating your driving speed by 2.2%.

***

IIRC, the 8's stock specs are:

18"X8" rims, JJ fitment

225/45/18 Tires.

***

If you're in the market for wider tires:

245/40/18 seems to be a popular replacement from our stock setup.
(0.5% smaller diameter)

You can opt for even wider tires, as long as you can fit them on your rims, and as long as you don't end up scrubbing the fenders.

wider tires, wider rims, lower offset, and 19" are all good things to look into. If you have any questions regarding those things, just PM me.
