Radiator
Hello everyone,
Long story short, I need a new radiator, and is trying to locate one that is less than what is being quoted to me (employee pricing) from a Mazda dealership of $430+TAX. I was looking into a few options from Mazmart.com, but even the Koyo Race HH option is $299 USD, before shipping and tax...which will come out to be just around the same price. If I was to go for the OEM equivalent that will be $180 USD before shipping and tax; however, I am unsure if it will be just as reliable and efficient as the OEM Calsonic radiator? Any assistance will be greatly appreciated! Cheers! |
Im using the Koyorad KV061615R, IMO it's way better than the OEM, cools way faster, byebye overheating problems for me (traffic is crazy in my country, bumper to bumper nearly every freakin day). but im not sure if it's compatible to ur R3, u'll have to check.

^ Thank you for your response!
Yes I believe that Series 2 already has a radiator size of 36mm, thus the greater cooling capability you're seeing (someone correct me if I'm wrong on the core size). I am curious if that is the equivalent model to this one I see on Mazmart? (First radiator on the page) : http://shop.mazmart.com/en/rx8-radiator-2009-201 |

$290 with free shipping from Amazon ! Well worth the price. Koyo rads are the best bang for the buck for replacement in RX8s. Probably the most purchased rads by RX8 club members. I have the V2695 one for the Series 1 and it performs better than stock. Your radiator is too important to the health and longevity of your rotary engine to try and "cheap" it out. Koyos are well worth their price, and it beats paying to replace an overheated engine. Many other good replacement options cost hundreds more. |
I just bought this one works and fits perfectly. |
Bluetii the OP has a Series 2, so this one you linked wont fit his Series 2 car, they are different sizes.

Ok, so I did end up ordering it from Amazon! Found out the product could be shipped to Canada, and shipping was only going to be $36.
Thanks again for all the assistance! I'm looking forward to the arrival of the package!! |
Great, Koyo radiators are a thing of beauty of workmanship and do a great job, better than stock by all accounts. Best to You ! Keep warm up there.

I've had great experiences with Koyo rads as OEM replacements. Go for the Koyo if it's cheaper than OEM.
