ON Open sunroof rattle

Anyone else finding that when the sunroof is open they have a distinct rattle? The noise seems to be coming from the centre dash but after closing the sunroof the rattle stops and all is tight. Dealer is looking for possible TSBs. I'm positive it's in the sunroof somewhere.

Thanks RXeckless, I checked the links and will try the lube part. Other than this rattle the 8 is tight!

Mine has a slight rattle to it, but it only started after i had to replace the sunroof (damn that rock on the QEW!!) Had Mazda do it so they will cover it, just have to get the car rolling again to prove it to them(still waiting on my new engine )

Thanks DarkBrew and ZmFnZm,
We were in Toronto this past weekend and discovered that if the window was closed just a little the rattle stopped but I'm taking the TSB into the dealer tomorrow and maybe we can get started on the fix.

mehhhhhh... I've had this problem for awhile as well... though that's not covered under warrantee for me anymore... in my case it's actually a side effect of a bad engine mount... sends a slight vib through the car which is enough to get the sunroof rattling... once I start moving I'm fine... just anything aound idle (750~800rmp) and the thing starts to sound like a rusted out integra...

lol.. because my whole car vibrates like a ****... there's also a TSB with a test that you can do to confirm it (basically you have to be at a certain speed in a certain gear and accellerate). If you were to park beside me with our engines running and place your hand on the chasis of each you can feel the difference..

Interesting... Greg replaced one or more of his engine mounts but it didn't solve completely, the problem he was focused on, so I was curious.

yeah.. he mentioned that too me on Friday.. he said it did make a difference but didn't completely solve whatever issue he was having (which escapes me right now).

Heh... higher on my priority list right now is why my car reaks of burning gear oil if I get close to the red light after Friday afternoon :\
