There was a technical bulletin in the US with regards to squealing brake pads - do a search on this site and look for the Sticky in the Tech Support section of this site.

Scarboro Mazda replaced my pads (front I think) when I complained. They gave me no grief whatsoever. Unfortunately, they started squeeling again. I asked about it at my next oil change and they said they would lubricate them which worked for about a day. I'll complain again next time but I'm not sure that they'll do anything about it a second. The noise is a little embarrassing to the least.

My advice to you is to try a different dealer if you want to get it done and take the above-mentioned bulletin into them.

same thing here, Avante replaced my break pads when i mentioned some noise. They said there was a bulletin or something. The noise did go away, but i think it came back shortly, so i just accepted it. Now my car has been put away for the winter.

Don't put up with that answer. Mine made noise and I had them replaced. They started making noise again and they first said they would not replace them...that's when I told them that I would take the issue up with Mazda Canada. They then replaced them for a second time. If they make noise again before the warranty is up, I will go back again and demand they change them. I don't buy the "because they are metallic brakes" arguement. There are other cars out there that have these brake pads and don;t have this problem.
