My R3 has gone to So Cal... Exht' FS.
Hi Folks
I don't think too many S Ontario cars leave this cold snowy place for San Diego, but that is where my Metropolitan Grey, 2010 R3 is now living, amonst the palm trees...
Thoroughly enjoyed owning and driving the 8 for 3 years, but my 70yr old back and knees were telling... that and lack of use made it time to go.
We made it down to the 2016 DGRR, a couple of lapping events, and a great tour thro' WV this summer, it was everything I expoected and more.
It was running a Turbo XS exhaust and I am left with the original; in fact I have a complete stock system looking for a new home, manifold, centre section with a v clean looking cat and the rear pipe with muffler and rubber hangers.
Open to reasonable offers...
Cheers

I was hoping to take it to DGRR this year... this pandemic thing really threw everything off. Plus not sure I want to put that many miles on it. Snagged another one to drive as a daily. For the most part it has remained stock. Only a few mazdaspeed trinkets added to it. And a new exhaust that’s not as loud. Went with the racing best revi.
Yep, I do love the Racing beat Exhaust. Not crazy loud but it still lets you know its there. Compliment it with the BHR midpipe and finish it off with the Racing Beat headers and you've got the best it can possibly get without being obnoxious.
The flames and the burble you get on decel or redline shifts are sure to please the crowd.

lol no, keeping the cat on. Maybe I’ll do the header... I have the oem wheels, I’m keeping it as close to stock as I can. The only other things that you can’t see are mazdaspeed front and rear strut tower braces. Being the only metropolitan grey series 2, let alone R3 in the US feels kind of special. So I’m treating it like a collector car. Making sure I keep all of the oem pieces. Even have another stock exhaust on my daily. These cars are great.. bummed I wasted my time on a few others rather than just going strait to a series 2 Rx8 instead.
Yeah, I wasn't thinking of getting an Rx8 either. However, when mine presented itself, not to mention for the price it was going for, it was hard to ignore. Best decision I've made regarding finding a suitable replacement for my NC Miata.
Keep on rotaxing!!!

I hear you. You'll be surprised how much livlier the vehicle will get when you do remove the cat. Not to mention saving the engine from excessive wear. I realize that in some places though it could be more cumbersome to not have it than it is to. No worries.
