Message to GTA - Hamilton RX-8 owners - experiment
I did an experiment with my new RX-8, see https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...896#post428896
On the skyway bridge coming from Hamilton towards Burlington I sped up to 120 Km/h on the top of the bridge and then I went down in neutral towards the hospital, about 1 km.
The speed went down from 120km/hr to 96 km/h instead of keeping the same speed or accelerating. I am very concerned about this drag.
If you live in the area and drive over the skyway bridge please repeat the experiment and report your findings.
Thanks.

I used to live in Ft. Erie and work in Hamilton and I drove the Skyway all the time. It's not that steep downhill. So the air drag will overcome the gravity pull down the hill, so it's completely normal for the air drag to scrub off speed.
Remember, air drag is related to the speed of a vehicle squared. So at 120 km/hr it's getting pretty high. You would need a pretty steep grade to overcome it.
Don't worry. Your car is fine.
