Importing from the states

Just wondering if anyone purchased their 8 from the states, and if the dealer warranty carries over... I've asked on multiple forums and some people say it does and some people say it does not. I figured I might as well ask someone who has first hand experience and purchased from the States.

I appreciate your responses and I'm looking forward to driving one in the near future :P

Hey man...check out the very first post when you log on to the Canadian part of this forum, it's sticky. Should tell you everything you need to know. If you have more questions ask, as I have imported mine for the states and a few others have.

With the dollar as it is right now you don't stand to really save anything by importing... good luck though!

YUP! But they are really cheap down there right now. You will have to do the math. I got mine when the dollar was 1.06, not .86 hehe

Well, I'm not really trying to import one to save, but rather for convenience. I'm going down to my father's house located in New Jersey during March break, and if I am able to purchase a new RX-8 I figured I might as well drive it back up to Canada to break it in and save myself the trouble of having to drive around for a few weeks to break the engine in. Also, if I end up buying a used car my dad is friends with a few mechanics that probably have better knowledge of a used car than I do, so that would help me too. :D

But regardless, thanks for the responses, they helped a lot.
