that i wasnt approved for the 8
i knew it would be hard to get approved, but alas, i dont think the dealership i went with got it done. i'll admit ive had credit problems in the past, but that was a long time ago, and everything has been fixed/paid off in full. but when i went by tonight to find out what was going on with the credit, the car was in the showroom (instead of outside) and the sign that said 'sold to a valued customer' was no longer on the dash... dealership hasnt contacted me at all since monday, so i guess im going to have to call them to get the bad news
anyone have any suggestions as to other options?

Finance......
Have you tried to finance thru your bank?
If you had credit troubles, they are the one place that knows your up-to-the-minute standing.
At least you get to present your case to a live person.....

good suggestions bindon, although ive never had luck with used cars, thats why i wanted to go new...
apparently, this dealership deals with my bank, so the financing would have been through them, so i dont know if that played into the approval process or not.
i'll know more tomorrow, but im not too hopeful at this point...

buy an old one. i got my rx8 second hand with only 1000km on it. after tax, everything(except insurance) came up to be around 35000 canadian.
you will need search HARD. for my 8, i spend like around 100 hours or something to just to find the right second hand car.

well, the only reason i could see myself not being approved is the amount (although my income is fine, it just could be the bank is wary of lending that much)
i may have to go with a mazda 3 or 6 if thats the case. may even look into other cars then too
edit: i didnt get approved, although not sure why yet. the business manager there said that the deal fell through, but he doesnt have access to the file, so i wont find out til tomorrow why. im just not going to bother anymore, its a dream, but a dream that wont be realized

hey man... it also depends on how much you are putting down... if you could somehow come up with something around the $4000-5000 mark, i don't think that there would be a problem... I'm only 23 so still fairly young... and that's what i had to do

Are you sure about that? I always understood lease financing was more difficult to get.
Do you have a downpayment for a new car? Some institutions require 25% or around there for a new car loan.
Try a credit union, usually better than bank rates, lower downpayment requirements, and some even now offer 8 year loans if you want to own rather than lease.
If you have some equity in a home you can secure a loan and get better rates.
What colour are you looking for. I might be able to get you approved. I work at oakville mazda near toronto and our business manager works wonders. I have a Red GT "demo" big savings. Full MAP warranty low KMs and you can still lease that beauty. My name is Dave. the web site is: www.oakvillemazda.com. Go to preowned cars. 905-827-4242. we can do it all over the phone. what do you think?
