Call the insurance company and get a quote. Your best and most accurate answer.

try kanetix.com or insurancehotline.com

My bet, you'll pay $2500-3000 if your record's clean.

I pay ~$1200/year, but I'm 30. (also have house and second car in the household) When I was your age with a RX-7 Turbo II I think I was paying ~$1500 for liability only.

I pay monthly (12 month ICBC auto plan), comes to $130 / month (with 40% discount). Includes collision, comprehensive, $1 million liability, Roadstar package.

Not sure how it works in Ontario, but here in BC, new drivers don't have the 40% discount and thus pay almost double what I pay.

.

I wonder how much these guys get paid to post these?

But in response to your original issue; it doesn't matter how long you've had your license, you're still under 25. You're going to get raped in the insurance costs of this car.

I'm with state farm and pay $71/month full coverage. I'm 30 (omg I'm 30....).

Wow, even more than I thought.

First, other than your age, it's Toronto rates, and although you've been driving since 16, you're only started being a principle driver now. As for the 4 door 1.3 stuff, that's nonsense, rates are set based on the history of that model, not colour, # of doors, etc.

It sucks, but it'll get better. I'm paying <4000/yr. for 3 bikes, 3 cars and a rv, but I'm 43 and live in Georgetown.

Great Thread. Short Answer: $2800 and I hate the GTA.

Profile: 15 years driving... no accidents.... Canadian... one lane change ticket, one speeding ticket in the past 3 years... 04 RX8 GT.... $1MM liability

Burlington - 2010 to 2011.

- Distance To Work - 37km each way.
- My Insurance Last Year: $1600.
- Cost was to go up to $1900 for 2011-2012.

Mississauga

- I just moved to Mississauga (by square one).
- Distance To Work - 7km each way.
- My Insurance This Year: $2800 year.

I am pissed. I have no accidents, I moved closer to work... yet somehow my insurance price jumped by $1000/year. Mississauga sucks.

That's effed. I'll have to see what mine is for the RX-8 that I just got (I'm located in BC where all vehicle insurance is handled by ICBC, Insurance Corp of BC).. It was a bit confusing cuz I just paid the difference for the remaining 3 months on my insurance so I'm not quite sure what the total amount is per-year. It's not much more than it was for my 2008 Honda Fit (that's what I changed the insurance from), and changing it to "using to drive to work" whereas my Fit was insured just for pleasure driving only. Will have to see what the total amount comes out to, though.
