Question Have you noticed?

An influx of 8s on your area?

I had only ever seen like maybe 2 on the road for the first couple of years. Now, in the last month, I have seen probably around 5 or 6 of them. It just struck me as being odd, since they were so rare before, you were lucky if you ever saw one, now (around here at least) they seem to becoming larger and larger in numbers....

Is this happening in any other Canadian areas? Anyone else here experienced the same thing?

Nope not lately...there are times where I've seen 4 in one day...but normally I'll be lucky to see 4 in one week.

I've seen a lot of 8s, but haven't seen one with a Mazdaspeed kit yet! So I guess I'm still unique!

Nah ... I see pretty much the same 8's around my area (ie Lamfc, Ghostrider, and the mystery yellow 8). Since I work near Sunridge Mazda, some of the sightings are probably test drives.

Here in sunny Florida I have been seeing a lot more 8s on the road lately also. At least along where I frequently drive (to-from work). I guess some people sees my car all the time, liked it and decided to get one themselves...

hey frostee what price, on the road after taxes, were you negotiating for on the gt w/moonroof?

Oh and the dealershiip I got mine from is bringing it in from out of town. I'm sure they can always get the colour you want from out of town for you too.

i only did preliminary negotiations with them, as i wasnt sure of a buy date, and at that time, they were talking around $39K. I was hoping to talk them further down, as i have heard from some people on here that you can find them as low as $37K.

as for the white one, bank street mazda has a white GT on the lot, with a moonroof...

im hoping that they could get one from somewheres sooner, but its still a bummer, plus im insanely impatient

I got mine for $36010 before anything, came to $42487 on the road. '05 GT w/ moonroof and NO nav. They wouldn't go any lower and i didn't wanna negotiate for another month with the various dealerships.

hey guys, this is my first post, been watching this forum for a while, anyways, i put a deposit in sherwood park for a 05 white GT. Was quoted $39,800 with Moonroof. I'm not sure about the colour, always wanted blue. Chicks dig white too right? i'm thinking of waiting for '06 but the interest will jump and i'm insanely impatient too!

they said that the original price was 42,555. and the lowered it almost 2755 to 39,800 including taxes i hope. 751/month (taxes included) with 1500 down = 46,560. take out the interest... hmm, somehow i get a purchase price of 43400, they took my 1500 down and told me that was what THEY were taking off plus another 1255? know of anyone else getting 2.9% finance right now?

42555 would have to include NAV also i would think...

even if you go to mazda canada's website, and build yourself one, a GT with moonroof (no NAV) comes to 41100 (that includes a colour other than black)

unless they are quoting you for a shinka, but i dunno, you may want to clarify all that with them...

edit: the 41100 is without taxes

What's a Shinka?
ok, so 41,100 with taxes is 44060.65 (and they're discounted price was 41055). but with all interest minus downpayment it comes to 48557.40 total price. Help me if i'm wrong. I'll check if it Shinka. Maybe I'll just wait for the '06 to come out. Thanks for the help. So it's not a great deal?

oh is the shinka the one's with special interior but no performance upgrades? the salesman was telling me about it, only 10 in edmonton and 150 in canada i think?

39800 + interest = 42586,

Glad to hear that you didn't buy the white one at Bank St. When I bought mine there (which I regret doing- not the car, the dealer), there was a white RX-8 in the showroom which they were putting a bunch of decals on - pinstripes down the side with "RX-8" at the back end of the stripe - brutal - they ruined the look of the car. When I picked up my car a few days later, the white RX-8 had been moved outside, but in the process in moving it out, they scratched up the side of the car on the doorframe into the showroom. Let's just say the car jockeys at Bank St. can't drive - they damaged my car too, bringing it into the shop for an oil change. The best part was, they didn't tell they damaged it when I picked it it. I had to call them to ask how my car got damaged. At least they admitted it - apparently they had already done an estimate. It just would have been nice if they told me first.

Anyways, the moral of the story is - beware of Bank St. Mazda!! Based on my experience, I don't recommend them for either sales or service.
