Got 3 tickets in 1 week
 

...just because I turn too fast in the corners.

I failed not once, but twice to notice cop car at the stoplight while I was turning...and got 1 ticket of 10km over, 1 for expired insurance card, and 1 for failure to stop at red light (you know, those scenario where the opposite lane has a green turning arrow and you know you are protected so you just down shift and keep it rolling...)

I have no excuse but myself though. As a remindar however, I will only turn at a relatively high rate of speed in the on ramps then...too much risk in local street.
All tickets are issued by the york regional police. Both officiers are nice enough not to give me even more tickets (which they can...)

I got busted by a red light camera that caught me not stopping fully at the red before making the right turn. Sigh! It's a $325 lesson I've learned :( !

Josh, how did he tag you at 10 over? I thought they give you 24 hours to show up at the station with proof of insurance?

I would still go go court, and bank on cops not showing. Any have points attached to them?

Well the 10km over (no point, still counts for insurance) is a "reduced" ticket already. I was taking to my passenger and not mindful of the speed (60km/h zone).

I have to go check the tickets though...the "failure to provide insurance card" is not in Highway Traffic Act.

The failure to stop on red...I think thats the big one.

I don't care about the points...I care about the insurnace increase...I think it only count speeding tickets(back in 2005ish)...but not so sure now (in 2010)

I have a red light ticket in 2009 and I won with the usual approaches.

Will see about these ones...

FIGHT IT... even if the cop shows up...they would still reduce it.

Expired insurance paper is just a fine...not on your record and same as 10km over...

BUT,

Its going to be hard fight off the failing to stop at the red light....it might get reduce to failing to yield....(I've tried to fight this one myself and failed)

Insurance looks at convictions from 3 years ago. That one in 2005 won't make a difference with regards to your premium. Hopefully they won't pull your MVR on your renewal...so if you are renewing soon, definitely fight it cuz they only see convictions.

I got pulled over 3 times in one night. But only got one ticket.

All convictions with the violations to the highway traffic act will count on your insurance. My insurance told me that if you have more than 2 MINOR convictions on file, that's when warning flags go up and insurance rates go way up :(

Depending on the company, they might even cancel your policy.

had to go back to january 10th to find my post as below

go to court i got busted for fail to surrender vehicle permit, fail to produce insurance card, fail to stop for a red light. the cop also told me that he could write me another 2 tickets for speeding and not having my seat belt on but there was no point because i was looking at loosing my licence anyways.i went to court pleaded not guilty to any of the charges.the judge dropped the fail to surrender vehicle permit, fail to produce insurance card and reduced the fail to stop for a red light to disobey a lane light.the judge said the charge will stay on record for one year from the time of the offense.as it has been more than a year between the time of the offense and bringing it to court it will not show on your record forty five dollar fine you are free to go.i said thank you your honour and walked out with a grin from ear to ear.

so my advice is put a suit and tie on go to court and address the judge as your honour and he probably will drop the charge for being respectful to the court and to him and that advice was given to me by the law society of canada and it worked.

How does a conviction disappear from your record? Or was he talking about the points that go along with it?

depends on the conviction ,i was told by the judge after he reduced my red light infraction to disobeying a lane light that it would be on my record for one year from the time of the offence as it has taken more than a year to bring to trial it will not show on my record.

i walked out the court house with nothing on my record and a 45 dollar fine i was more than happy to pay all because i wanted a chocolate frosty

Yeah, I picked up two on the weekend. 83 in a 60 and expired insurance card. Definitely gonna fight it.

So was it a moving violation or not? I dont know how things get removed from your record. My 15 over speeding ticket from 1999 is still on my record! :lol2:

Insurance-wise, they can only see the last 3 years of convictions...

My friend got that, I took the turn on the yellow, and he followed right behind me but got caught by the red-light camera since he turned on the red.

couldn't tell you if it was or wasn't a moving violation.i guess once you have been convicted by the court then it go's on your record as for me the judge told me it wouldn't show on my record and i know its good because i've renewed my insurance twice now and nothing came up.

you checked your MVR? Yea if it's not on there then insurance companies won't know.
But insurance companies don't always get your MVR on renewal.
