Mazda_RX804 09-20-2010 12:02 PM

schnipster 09-20-2010 12:15 PM

the more i see how nuts these rotaries are...the more that V8 swap we saw looks like a great investment

Thief 09-20-2010 06:13 PM

It takes a certain kind of stupidity to own and love one of these cars. What can I say?

REV-illusions 09-20-2010 07:12 PM

yes... because changing all the coils is just too crazy a thing to think about doing... eeeeeeee

could be worse...

schnipster 09-20-2010 07:41 PM

no its just not necessary every 28 kms....in a normal car..lol

Mazda_RX804 09-21-2010 11:08 AM

the car is there now, since they are at it changing coils, they are doing my Oil Change, and they say they found a ripped front upper control arm boot(RIGHT SIDE) its gonna cost 120 part and install, but they gotta order it, so i have to back to the shop on saturday to get that installed. they say my front pads are low, but im storing the car soon, so ill do it in the spring. gonna pick up the car at 1:30pm hopefully.

prospectjtaz 09-21-2010 11:20 AM

Jeez, wonder what the damage to the wallet will be. I have spare packs of coils at my place.

Mazda_RX804 09-21-2010 11:46 AM

i wish i knew that sooner lol, r they Orignal mazda parts?

prospectjtaz 09-21-2010 11:54 AM

Ya, one of the former guys on here passed on some of his stuff to me. Their used, but he was anal about performance so kept replacing them prior to the recommended, but ya, I have like 3 sets of coils at home.

Always good to have spare ones.

REV-illusions 09-21-2010 01:32 PM

I might need one of those sets sooner rather than later :D

0413B 09-21-2010 03:56 PM

i cant believe your paying a dealer to install coils? save where you can and your slow death wont be so painful!

9krpmrx8 09-21-2010 04:05 PM

$485.00. BHR coils and you will never have to buy coils again for your 8. It will probably cost you that much anyway for the crappy coils you are getting.

Mazda_RX804 09-21-2010 04:32 PM

Mazda states if you use aftermarket coils, your void your motor warrenty, that wat the service manager told me, but anyways i have the money and choose to buy a genuine mazda part. When the warrenty is over, then i will use them if i get it again...

umforder 09-22-2010 10:11 AM

Keep a set of stock coils if you blow you motor.

I ordered my BHR coils last week, so I'm just itching to get them installed.

I feel like repeating myself a gazillion times to help others. God knows how many times I've posted this... Perhaps ChristInBen can tell me because he is co close to him.

You've never owned a VW/Audi? lol.

Neo 09-22-2010 10:41 AM

I don't understand some people.

You go in trying to buy a sports car, and expect maintenance to be the same as a Toyota Corolla???

It's a sports car. It will eat up any money you have saved. Maintenance is pretty forgiving considering what it could be.

As someone said, have you ever priced out service on an Audi or VW??? And those cars are "normal".

Everyone knows dealers are called stealerships for a reason. But they exist out of convenience. People have to work and they can't spare the time to do maintenance on their own car. Or they don't have the right set of tools to do anything.

As the saying goes... you gotta pay to play. :)

schnipster 09-22-2010 10:45 AM

V8 swap..........

NO ONE NEEDS TO TELL ME ANYTHING!!, ok, i choose to get it serviced there ok, I have the money, and I want all my shit serviced at mazda till warrenty expires! ok i appreciate the help and input you are trying to give me, but I know i can get aftermarket shit cheaper. The thread just letting others know what happened, and, if anyone was going through the same situation. Thank you.

Footman 09-22-2010 11:09 AM

I will never offer my advice to you again until you solicit from me in the future.

Mazda_RX804 09-22-2010 11:13 AM

Listen guy, I have nothing against you, but you gotta read ok, I didnt ask for advise, I asked if anyone was goin through the same deal, no need to be a women about it..geese. You dont wanna give advise then dont..I dont ever recall you sayin nice in my threads anyways. You told me once already in the last thread about the BHR stuff, so I dont need to hear it again...

Not sure what the laws are in Canada but that doesn't fly here in the US. They have to prove the aftermarket part caused damage, etc. There are already a couple of threads about dealers and the BHR kits anyway and as far as I know the customer with the BHR kit has won every time.

That said, it appears you like and don't mind spending more on parts than needed at the dealer so why bitch about having to replace coils then? Your logic seems flawed to me.

If it's slowly killing you then it seems like getting the BHR would solve your issues :dunno:

But either way, if your happy then that is all that matters.

Footman 09-22-2010 11:21 AM

wrong guy.. I wasn't the guy preaching the BHR stuff.
