A)
Any of you guys experiencing a problem with your braking? Mine does pull mainly to the left side when the car is almost at a stop. It doesn`t happen all the time. Sometimes it is even pulling a bit to the right. Altought this last case happenned very few times.

I`m going to the dealer monday. I hope that the car will do it when they test drive it. Being an occasional problem I suspect it may have something to do with the computer (computer assisted braking).

B)
Regarding the heated seats; putting the switch on doesn`t do a thing. Is this related with the outside temperature meaning that it will not turn on unless the outside temperature is under ?? Celsius

C) When you turn on the heat and you direct the airflow at your feet. It does an awful lot of noise but very little air comes out at my feet.

Do you guys have the same problems?

 

several other forum members, including myself, have experienced something similar. check the tech forum for the "serious braking problem" thread. no word yet on a fix if it is a problem.

 

about the vents it is because the back has vents as well, but only on the feet so you lose a lot of your air to the back.

 

It's threads like this that help make the search engine ineffective. For reference, and to get the correct spelling into this thread so it does come up if anyone is searching, the word is braking.

 

Is this the Canadian spelling?? Remember "Kerb" is the correct U.K. (English) spelling, not the U.S. "Curb."

Seriously??

The things on the car that make it stop are indeed brakes - everywhere. When you use the brakes, you are braking.

When you blow up your engine at the dragstrip, it breaks. When you haul the car to the dealer and they agree to fix it under warranty, that's a lucky break!

Here we go, one silly mistake and you guys jump all over me. You guys want to try a bit of french for fun? I'm pretty sure your french must be as bad as my chineese...Give me a break !!! (or is it brake?)

Anyway your answers remind it me to use the search engine and I found out that this braking problem is very common. I still think it' s abnormal. I' m going to the dealer monday.I printed some of the postings I found on this board in order not to be told that it must have been an isolated case, that the road must have been very bad when it happened.

I' ll keep you informed.

i think braking problem is cuz by the width of tire.. if the problem you are talking about is what i think it is..
wider tire just tend to slide when u stop on uneven surface... same thing happen to my old spec-v... and i ask my friend who own an SLK he told me the same thing..(sliding or pulling left or right when brake)

 

I am not convinced by that explanation.

 

Nobody mentioned the heated seats yet! I was worried they didn't work also, since I tried them in August and didn't feel anything. However, those were hot days, and it's been suggested that the seat heaters are thermostatically controlled. Last week Calgary was around 0C, and sure enough the heaters work fine. They heat the seat to a comfortable temp (not hot). I do prefer the 6-setting heated seats in my Audi, but then I didn't pay Audi money for the RX-8!

My Heated Seats in my GT wrok fine....my buddy turned mine on when we were driving....I thought my butt was on fire...too bad they don't have a 3 dial setting like BMW 1) Warm 2) warmer 3) holy god my A$$ is on Fire. Mazda just has the Third Setting.

I have 255's on my IROQ Z-28. The car does do funny things like that depending on the ruts in the road caused by heavy trucks. This does not happen with narrower tires.

There were some spots on the 401 in Whitby where I had to hold on to the steering wheel solidly with both hands because the car would literally jump to the left or right depending on where the car with situated in the ruts. This happened every time in the IROQ, but my other cars would not even feel it.

 

yeah that is the way wide tire behave!

 

I've noticed the same thing with the braking ( .... or was that breaking?). I had chalked it up to ruts in the road as well. I have noticed that the pull is variable (sometimes left, sometimes right, as you said). At some stop lights, it doesn't happen, then sometimes it does. I have noticed that at the same light, it always happens. These seems to be the intersections with the more pronounced ruts ....

Just a thought, I hadn't really considered digging deeper.

Same, here always at the SAME corner, Kanata Ave and Hazeldean (left turn lane) nowhere else.

I noticed this in my previous car as well. I'm not sure why people think this is a problem, it seems "normal" to me.
