FYI
Three days after getting the "8" the engine light turned on on my way to work. So I stopped the car read the manual and checked the gaz cap and the gaz was low but the empty light was not on. I filled it up, still on. The last thing they mention in the manual is the electrical system, so I brought it in to the dealer and when I picked it up they told me that it was fixed with a software upgrade.

 

When I picked up my 8 about a month ago the dealer mentioned to close the gas filler cap till it clicks a couple times. He said if I didn't the CEL would turn on and the only way to shut it off is through the dealer. This is maybe what happened?

 

Just get it reflashed. That clears up check engine lights and updates your PCM.
