Edmonton people get re-flashed?
Edmonton people get re-flashed?
Picked up my 8 a month ago, and have been going through these forums quite a bit. Wondering if anyone from Edmonton has requested reflashes, or if their dealers have been as useless as mine in even knowing what an ECU flash is. If you have, where did you go (Weber, Park Mazda, etc.)? and how did you find out what your current flash status was?
My 8 is an '04, I bought it from the GSM of the Burnaby, BC Mazda dealership.

I don't know how it works in Edmonton but I just call up dealership and ask for the flash. Mind you the service rep may not know what the "N-Flash" is. They know it better as SSP61 (for N Flash that is). I believe the M Flash use to be known by them as MSP04. So anyways, just ask if they have the SSP61 and complain that you are having "rough starts". Hope that works out
OK I need to understand this please. I have been reading about the "N flash" in here as well but been to afraid to sound stupid and so I didn't ask... Does the trouble my '05 has with starting on occasion (never flooding so far) imply I need the N Flash then? If so, how do I get this and is it something they will charge me for? Sorry for sounding stupid guys, but I can't risk looking stupid in the parking lot at Blockbuster!!
Flashes are free of charge, if you take your car in for service they should automatically flash your 8 to the latest version or just go in and ask for it. Around the Edmonton area I would only take my 8 to Weber, they're really good. Talk to Lee in the service dept, she's helped me out on several occaisions.
