The drift effect
The drift effect
Just wondering if anybody else is experiencing the drift effect? Apparently certain people like the looks of the 8, and tend to drift over to my lane of the road to get a better look.
Particularly unnerving on the highway.
Does one ever get immune to this? (or do I love my car too much?)

PS - just got a neat parking sign on e-bay which is 8 specific. I'd post the pic, but haven't a clue about how to do it (apparently I'm an Adobe PS idiot)

I've had people do this since day 1! Just more reason to be extra careful. It's either the drift over or the sit in your blind spot all day while they look at it. It's highly annoying, but the price you pay, so to speak. Soon the car will be more common and this won't happen as much.
damn i thought it was only me that saw this happening! I have never in my entire life used my horn more then in the 8. In the last 3 months I've used the horn more then i have since i've been driving!
and yes it is especially bad on the highway

Two lane can be fairly scary. It's the oncoming monster SUV's that unnerve me the most when they 'drift' over for a looksee, particularly. any Benz M Class or Cadillac Escalade. Is it curiosity.. intimidation.. stupidity? All of the above?
more on the drift effect
On the Don Valley Parkway, Black RX8, Rear ended by a Truck. Rush hour tonite.
How many times have we heard about rear ending 8's already.. I swear its the drift effect and other drivers paying too little attention to the road and too much attention to our cars... Anybody else see this happening too much?
