Dave's Garage Track day Sept 22 at Cayuga

My buddy Dave is hosting a track event on Sept 22 at Cayuga and he asked me to post this in case any RX8 members are interested, I will be attending. I put the info from his website below.

His website is: www.daves-garage.ca

Join us for the first Dave's Garage Track Day Driving School.

In appreciation of our clients we are organizing a day of driving instruction and fun at Toronto Motorsports Park (TMP) in Cayuga.

Whether you are a seasoned pro or a novice driver who wants to have more fun with your Miata we have an event that is sure to be fun for all.

We'd like to open this invitation to all of our Miata friends and if we can get 15-20 Miatas signed up we can have our own group of Miatas on the track.

We have partnered with our friends at Sweetie Girl Racing (SGR) to offer this unique event.

SGR has a seasoned history of hosting professional events that educate and inspire drivers to become better and have fun at the same time.

What: Track Day & Driving School

Where: Toronto Motorsports Park

1040 Regional Road 8 Cayuga, ON N0A 1E0

(905) 772-0303

When: September 22nd 2012

Drivers meeting starts at 8:30am.

Why: Because this is the most fun you can have with your Miata and learn to be a better driver at the same time.

Who: You and your Miata

There will be three groups to cater to different driver skill levels.

A total of 45 cars with be allowed with 15 cars per group.

-Novice group is for the driver who has never driven on a track and includes an instructor at all times. $329

-Intermediate group is for those who have experience at track days. $175

-Advanced group is for the driver who feels very comfortable on the track and has driven on tracks at length. $175

Instructors are available for Immediate and Advanced drivers as well.

Since the instructors will not be in the car full time with these groups there is a reduced rate of $75.

For those who have not driven at TMP before it is recommended that an instructor is present.

Lunch and beverages are included for all registrants.

Helmets are mandatory.

Roll bars are not mandatory but strongly advised.

Sadly I can't make it tomorrow. Annoying, as it looks like a hell of a time!

Hope some other people make it though, it'd be a waste to miss out on this.

Let's just say that Simon and myself were chasing each other like Ricky Bobby and Jean Girard in Talladega Nights

Sorry you guys missed it, but I'm sure we will have another date in the Spring.

The morning started out cold and very wet but after lunch the clouds were gone and it was sunny and dry, and we took full advantage of the conditions.

Everyone had an amazing time and I couldn't stop myself from having lots of fun.

Pics will be uploaded to my site once I receive them.

What an awesome day! A little scary in the morning when the track was wet, but great wet handling experience. Once it dried up by noon it was awesome. I can't wait until spring to get back out there.
Since nobody else from the 8 club showed I was forced to drive like a maniac to properly represent how great our cars are on the track.
Damn v8 miatas are fast!

Would of went but no time or money, it's pretty hard to get the 8 forum to come out to track events these past couple of years. Not like the old days!
