CSCS Cayuga May 31

Hey just wondering if anyone will be doing Time Attack at CSCS Cayuga?

I will be going up with a bunch of people from Sudbury (they are doing drag racing)

Also, has anyone done this last year?? if so how was it??

i wont be attending any of these events. I've heard from more than one source now to stay away from these events (the time attack ones at least) unless you are a serious racer. basically, these arent fun run sessions. these guys are seriously competetive and have a big problem with people getting in their way and slowing them down. better to just wait for a lapping day, and likely not one being held by CSCS until you are a very confident driver on the track.

ive been thinking about entering and putting all my skills to the test. unfortunately my car doesn’t feel the same, im having problem after problem. its currently drivable just not track ready.

I compete in most of the CSCS time attack events; they are held in conjunction with a lapping day and a drift event. The day on the road course is well run, the lapping is split up into two groups (fast /not so fast) same as the Time Attack event which is run with 4 cars on the track at one time also in groups depending on lap times.
I’ve always had a good time at the events and have never seen or heard of any major problems, lapping is also run like any other lapping day, No passing in the corners, passing is only allowed on the straights, be a clown and your gone.

I think everyone should try a lapping day at some point; Cayuga ( TMP) is a very safe track for one to start.
Drop by and say hello, I’ll be in the black RX7 :)

for what I have read it seems like you can't really slow anyone down, i figured it was one at a time, but even if it is 4 I cant see anyone being so slow that you interfere. Atleast I hope thats how it is. Guess I will find out the hard way.

What did you run last year JDK? i see average is like ~1:30. Also, are helmets required? All I have are snowmachine helmets and that may get a little warm...

In the Superstreet class my lap times are in the 1:22 range, Running Hoosiers R6’s for the Unlimited class i ran a 1:20:53.
By the way the class champion for Superstreet class won with a RX8 :)

If they ever run the Mosport big track or Shannonville Pro track I will give it a shot, although I suck at "qualifing" lol
