Clutch possible problem??
 

Okay so i started my car last night and noticed that when the car is running and the clutch is not depressed it was making a squeeking sound like the wheel is spinning but its squeeking. Once i press the clutch lightly it goes away about 97% when depressed.


P.S. it's not the regular grinding sound that our clutches make its almost like there is no lube on the wheel when spinning ????

I have exactly the same issue. I was initially suspicious but now I think this is normal

I believe what you are hearing is the clutch release bearing. It is usually a sign of age, the grease starts to wear away and it makes a sqeaking noise when spinning. When you depress the clutch pedal you put pressure on the bearing and the noise goes away. Usually its more of a pain in the ear than anything else. When you eventually replace the clutch thats when you replace that bearing.

Shouldn't be the clutch release bearing - it isn't (or shouldn't be) engaged unless the clutch pedal is depressed. If the noise is coming from the release bearing, it is because it is being lightly slapped by the clutch fingers. If that is the case, the noise should go away by backing off the bearing slightly.

Could be the pilot bearing. Push the clutch pedal in slowly by hand and listen for the clutch release bearing starting to engage, but do not push in so far as to completely disengage the clutch. If the noise goes away before the clutch is disengaged, it is probably not the pilot bearing.

Sure its not the typical gear rollover sound common with our car?
If you can, take a video or audio clip of it and we can tell for sure.

damm this sucks considerin im running low on cash and all these problems are starting to accure. Clutch noise, Car shakes when idling, Passenger side rattles with base on.
