I'm past Kennedy commons and with traffic you guys are gonna be pushing it.

Least it's at 5:30 now instead of 5. I'm leaving around 2 from Ajax...and trust me there is traffic at 2 on Fridays, with rain it will be worse.

I agree, leaving at 3 might be pushing our luck? it takes about 2 hrs 30 min to get there, but with traffic and rain it might take longer. Also considering how it would be better to get there a little early.

Let's hope that either the track dries up early enough so that we can still use the R1s or that it just doesn't rain at shannonville *fingers crossed*

Can we make a stop at UT Scarborough campus? Need to pick up Margaret. It's along the way, just exit Morningside.

:scratchhe
No, it does not giving you 3 hours of buffer time! See Post #1
Be at the track by 5:00 p.m. our track time starts at 5:30!
I'm leaving my work at 2:00-2:15 so far with scottish and thriller @ Vic Park & Denison.
Everyone meet by the main paddock area near the administration building not the Fabi paddock.

Footman 07-14-2010 05:48 AM

So, Kennedy Commons at 2:30pm then?

Maybe 2pm is better?

Footman 07-14-2010 08:25 AM

2:30pm is more than enough time

Rotary Mike 07-14-2010 09:48 AM

I'll leave work at 2PM, see how close I can get to K.C. by then. Andrew, do you have my cell number?

Footman 07-14-2010 09:55 AM

No, Boxermike, pm me again

So official Kennedy Commons meet time is 2:30pm,

*warning* there is a hidden bump in the parking lot between Chapters and TD Bank. The hidden bump is bad enough that I can scrape my car at low speeds. 2hit6's MS front won't stand a chance. This was the usual area for those Wednesday car meets.

I would say to meet at the other side right in between WILD WINGS and The Friendly Greek restaurant.

Then, we all roll out to UTSC and pick up Margaret

I'm in the middle of building my carputer right now... At first I was building my own lap timer/logger/program from scratch (I've already build the GPS / data logger), but came across some software which was relatively cheap enough to make me go "awww screw it" to the custom thing. I'll let ya know the details at the thing on Sat... don't have the info on me at the moment.

RXeckless 07-14-2010 11:32 AM

All 12 show $66 per car

Thanks, in advance, to everyone who will be attending.

Footman 07-14-2010 12:23 PM

I have no torque wrench. Does anyone have one that will be on site?

Also, to fulfill Rxeckless' requirement for exact change, you must have the following in your pocket for all possible combinations of payment:

2 x 20 bill
2 x 10 bill
1 x 5 bill
1 x $1 coin
1 x $2 coin

Not sure if its accurate but you know what, rain or shine track days are fun!

Sucks to those who bought R1s for over half a year and still don't have a chance to use it due to weather though...doh!

Have fun folks! And MAKE SURE PEOPLE TAKE PICTURES OF YOUR CAR SPITTING FIRE AT THE END OF TURN 1 - Camera should point to THE END of the back straight...

I got S2k guys saying "hey you got fire coming out of your exhaust at the backstraight! cool!" ... and I still don't have the picture #$$#&

Thanks for the math, hopefully you'll only need 2 x 20 and 1 x 10 bills. I'll have my torque wrench. And I'm sure others will too.

nate340 07-14-2010 01:48 PM

really excited about this, no matter what the weather i have tires for the job even if its sunny i think ill still do a few laps on my new less than 500km Pilot Sport A/S Plus.

i have to go pick up my new brake pads tomorrow and install them sometime between then and Friday.

Andrew really glad your coming out to the track.

what rules are we running? novice, two way signal passing or advanced, pass anywhere you feel is safe.

Footman 07-14-2010 01:51 PM

Yeah, but I'll be running some shit tires though, so traction will be poor even on dry. It's poor now in city driving, so track driving will definitely kill the rest of it.

Thumper3322 07-14-2010 06:02 PM

I will have my torque wrench as well.

As long as there is a chance of it lightening up I'm bringing my R1s.

I will probably be there before everyone else (I think), I will be over at Fabi paddock as that's where I will be putting on my R1s.

I'm bringing a heavy jack so I can do two tires at once if anyone will need to borrow it.

Nate - read his well laid out instructions in short, passing only straights when person in front is signaling a pass.

Newbies - for those that haven't been practicing heel-toe, rev matching down shifting...get practicing!

I'll bring a 2 ton jack and stands as well.

Do you guys want passing in the corners? As well fabi has two or three real nasty corners, the signals are for safety and we have every level of driver from newbie to expert can't be a free for all. Thats another reason why we'll have a driver's meeting, air beefs then.

Is there anyone in the group who'd attempt a pass in turn 8,9 just before the back straight? why?

Maffu313 07-14-2010 09:17 PM

Are we still doing the triangle scotch tape on the rear windshield for newbies?

I'll also be bringing torque wrench...torque sticks...impact gun...

Oh and as for the Kennedy Commons meet, are we LEAVING at 2:30? or meeting there at 2:30 and leaving at like 2:45-3:00? since i'm pretty sure some people will arrive late

nate340 07-14-2010 09:32 PM

i have no issues with passing on the straights, as long as people actually do it. i don't know how many times I've been stuck behind someone for lap after lap and i end up wasting a hole session because someone else isn't following rules.

Andrew don't worry about your tires too much they will scrub in and do a pretty decent job.

who's going to see wulf on saturday? i have a rx8 rim id like to give him.

Thief 07-14-2010 09:53 PM

Let's not do passing in the corners. It's not just about newbies, it's the first track day of the year for some too. I say we take it easy for this first one.

Maffu313 07-14-2010 10:01 PM

it now says it's only cloudy so far =] so no rain...YAY

Footman 07-14-2010 10:04 PM

Meet between 2:15 to 2:30.. Leave at 2:30... go to UTSC pick up Margaret at 2:45,, continue to Shannonville.

rx8-druggist 07-14-2010 10:50 PM

Okaay will meet you guys at KC around 2:15 then !!!

Common sense prevails, as only 12 cars are allow on the track at any given time we'll have to figure out a way to break into two groups anyway. Group 1 Newbie/Beginners and Group 2 Intermediate/Advanced. The first hour will be the more difficult to achieve a balance on the track of the two groups, but hour two should smooth out as the bench racing starts. The first hour will be 15 minutes on -15 minutes off so everyone gets enough session time in the first hour, after that just go when the opportunity arises.

Everyone with any track experience will have marshal the pits for say 10 minutes after one of there sessions, I believe this this fair to everyone involved.

All cars will stay in the pits expect for mechanical issues/tire changes. Entering and exit the pits to/from the paddock has the be strictly controlled as it dangerous during a active track with cars from the track pitting and exiting.
