Canadian Recall

I was at the dealer last Saturday, brakes and flash upgrade TSB work. I asked about the recalls and they said there are currently no recalls, this was even printed on my work order. Looks like we will just have to wait and see.

the canadian dealerships got an email about the under car heat damage recall on July 8th or 9th just as the US dealerships did. ( i had a conversation about this with the toronto mazda3 club) when they said there is no recall for your vehicle its because they looked in your vin and didnt see one. Thats because it wont show up in there until the owners start recieving their lettters which wont happen until next month.

ya i called them, they had no clue what i was talking about.. so i called mazda canada, they just said there is a hold on the vehicles but they didn't know why.. . then they blamed their lack of knowledge on "company politics"

Called my dealer in Edmonton, did know of any recalls, but did say that if there was a concern all RX8 owners would hear directly from mazda Canada by mail

spoke with NorthHill Mazda and they too said that there wasn't a recall for my VIN. They too said that if there was something, I would be contacted by snail mail (just like with the ssp61 --> n flash)

The local paper mentioned the recall today, so I phoned the dealer here in Winnipeg. They did not seem to have any info, asked me for the recall number, and promised to get back to me on Monday.

Was that the SUn or the Press? I can not find any info about a recall. Dealer says no recall. Mazda Canada's web site, no recall.

Dear members,

We know of 2 things coming for the RX-8.
One is the heat shielding issue on some models, and the other I have just posted as of today. WE NO OTHER INFORMATION AT THIS TIME on when or what parts are coming for the issues. I will post when we have information. There is no need to contact your dealer regarding these issues as no other information is available to us yet.

bean438, that recall notice was in the July 22 copy of the Free Press, in the Recall Roundup section. It basically reads off the same basic info as the recall notice posted(ie: oxygen sensor problems, parking brake malfunction, faulty gas gauge readings and possible fuel leaks), and advises us to quote recall number 3305G.

also, thanks for the info#84Racing, my dealership just phoned me back about 1/2 hour ago and told me exactly what you have said about waiting for information!
