im thinking about picking up a optima battery

just got my 8 a couple months ago its an 04, would like to have a meet, check out some other 8's. im in sauga, whenever is good for everyone else, maybe get schooled abit on the car, havin a couple of issues at the moment.

I got the rx8 deflooded took 5 hours replaced the 2 leading spark plugs and I put in a new starter smoked up the whole neighbourhood. I ended up buying a Motomaster Eliminator spiral cell battery.

I like this thread, i'm from sauga too....there isn't much meets here, but we def should do one when the weather shapes up. I'd be down.

Hackdss, I'm thinking of getting a new starter (i deflooded my engine early winter) on top of other things. May I ask where did u purchase it? i.e dealer, online, scrapyard.

Fierce unleashed I got my starter from Avante Mazda in richmond hill for $395 and it came with 2 leading spark plugs in box. I have a auto so I think the manual starter might be cheaper, I was quoted 700 at other Mazda dealers Avante gives us a deal just tell them your part of the rx8club forum and you will get a discount and call them up before going in to see if they have stock.

thanks Chad/hacks, thanks for that. Once summer comes around (good weather in general) i'm going to tackle this.

I wanted to do a small maintenance this summer, starter +BHR ignition + new battery ;)

So have any meets been put together in the area? I'd like to join in if that's possible I do alot of pointless driving I find cause there's no where to go and I'm bored all the time

since there is like one other rx8 in kingston, and i know people in sauga im willing to come down for a weekend if something is goin on

When i'm bored, i go get coffee at Tims @ Heartland towncenter. I'm like the only rotary there. IMO, best meet spot too.

Ohh and would the meet be on Saturday??? I work Friday sadly if not. That's okay well just have to make another one in the near future
