Booo Hankook Canada
I recently bought a set of Hankook V12's for my 8. They were great bang for buck and the Hankook site boasted an "industry leading road hazard and replacement warranty". A few days after getting the tires mounted I got a nail in the shoulder of one of my tires. A tire shop in town deemed it unrepairable so I figured I'd try to get it covered under the Hankook Road Hazard warranty. When I called my local Hankook dealer they had no idea what I was talking about and said I was SOL. When I called Hankook Canada I got some guy's machine. One week later I get a call back saying that Hankook Canada does not offer that warranty, only Hankook USA. Time to replace a 10 day old tire. FML

If you read on their site, you will see warranty is not implied to a puncture, cut, etc stuff like that. It's only related to manufacturer defects if that is the cause of the problem. I don't believe any tire manufacturer covers such a puncture or cut, you'd have to look into a separate program like AAA or something similar to get coverage I believe.

If you crashed a new car after pulling out of the dealership would you expect the manufacturer to cover it under warranty? :)

From Hankook's Warranty Page:
https://www.rx8club.com/hantaCommon/...roadhazard.gif If the eligible tires are rendered unserviceable due to non-repairable road hazard during the first 25% of original tread life, it will be replaced free of charge with a comparable Hankook produced tire. Adjustment procedure is prescribed in the Owner's General Obligation section. Taxes and service charges are not included. The eligible products under Road hazard warranty are as follows:
Exclusion A. This warranty is not applicable to original equipment tires. B. Repairable punctures are not covered under this warranty. C. After 25% of usable tread depth, this warranty is no longer valid. |

As of January 1 2006 no tire company in Canada offers a road hazard warranty.
