Anyone See the Trashed Blue RX-8 on the Toronto News?

Watched the news tonight and saw that a Toronto police cruiser was crossing through an intersection heading to a call lights and siren on, and collided with a Blue RX-8. OUCH !!!
RX-8 trashed - front end folded up pretty good - driver had to go to hospital, no word on injuries hopefully nothing serious.

Police officer suffered some minor injuries I think. Looked like it wasn't a total T-bone scenario thankfully for the drivers.

Would be nice to know what sort of speed caused the front end to fold up like it did. Crumple zones - hopefully did their job.

Did anyone see this ?? I think I was watching Global.

The Blue RX-8 has been towed to Fix Auto Scaroborough East/ Morningside Nissan. I took a good look at it yesterday and it is a definite Total Loss. The front clip accordioned as it should have to absorb the impact. There are also extensive damages to the left door and left rear quarter panel. The impact was severe enough to break one of the spokes on the left front wheel as well as most of the left front suspension components.

In the Collision repair trade this car is known as a "Train Wreck". Basically it's blasted.
