lol I JUST went and looked at this. Now I really can't decide between RP03s and these. Different looks, both are amazing, but these are lighter and custom size... :dunno:

Endless Rotaries 05-01-2010 05:25 PM

I posted up pics of Angel's car somewhere, but might be in the wheel/tire section. Sorry guys we've been slammed with Big shipments this week so I haven't been up to date with this. I did update a bit ago that the wheels did all land and are in the machining schedule. I won't have updates honestly until they get through some of the backorders. I will do my best to get an idea of where we fall in the backorder and at what rate they are pumping them out. this is honestly the best I can do.

epik, ya Forgestar is definitely an interesting experience. I've been in the wholesale segment of the wheel industry for about 15 years now and have not had to jump through these kinds of obstacles before. Even when ordering crazy rare stuff from Japan. Usually the process is a lot simpler.

The fact that these wheels are such a great value and continue selling out is but one factor for the delays. Due to the nature of the custom offset and PCD we also have the machining variables to add into lead times. This is something that has been a fuzzy area. The lead times provided aren't necessarily always accurate and there's no followup on their part to update the clients on the progress/delays. I can't wait until they get things all ramped up, more lathes/drill presses or whatever to improve the lead times.

It actually has become very difficult for me to promote the wheel any further due to insane lead times. Containers are selling out before they land. once they land it can be up to 8-10 weeks before the wheels are through the machining process if the complete container is sold out.

I HAVE NOT TAKE ANY NEW ORDERS SINCE THIS FIRST BATCH.

THEREFORE ANY ORDERS PLACED SHOULD BE FULFILLED THIS MONTH. EVERYTHING IS IN MACHINING PHASE.

ANY NEW INQUIRIES MIGHT RESULT IN A 3-4 MONTH LEAD TIME DEPENDING ON FORGESTAR'S ABILITY TO RAMP INVENTORY AND PRODUCTION.

The Reverend 05-01-2010 06:16 PM

wait so people who ordered already 3-4 months? or 3-4 months for new orders?

Hi Rishie,

Atilla 05-04-2010 05:55 PM

mike[piston eater] 05-04-2010 05:56 PM

poor atilla and rev still no wheels

Endless Rotaries 05-04-2010 09:41 PM

Gunmetal is still available.

The wheels are here just waiting for machining. They should all be done this month. I confirmed and got all their internal order #'s for the machining process so I know they are scheduled.

Alright guys,

I'll chime in here for a bit regarding these wheels. Rishie, I understand your hair pulling, as I'm with ModBargains.com and we retail these wheels as well.

We sell a ton of Forgestar wheels and we're actually displaying with them at this year's Bimmerfest in Pasadena. The reason for the delays was very simple: Forgestar NEVER anticipated selling so many wheels.

We specifically told the owner of Forgestar that this wheel was going to be revolutionary and for the price - they'll sell like hotcakes. Forgestar originally (just from us) anticipated about 5 to 8 sets per week. We're currently selling nearly 5-8 sets per day! Forgestar's original forecasting was a bit off, but how could anyone forecast a type of wheel that's never been on the market?

I saw Angel's car on the Forgestar blog and might I say - it look absolutely nuts!

These wheels are made with the same methods as Advan, BBS, and Enkei wheels. They're the world's first affordable flow form cast wheels on the market. The wait is a bit long, but you're getting a custom made wheel, available in different finishes, and they're extremely lightweight too!

Good job Rishie for getting these on some 8s!

I want to see more now! I'm waiting for my 18x10 setup as well. So even the vendors have to wait!

These are not the first affordable cast flow formed wheels on the market. Not that it matters much but just saying. Rays G-Games 99b came out 2005? and they are cast flow formed. They are strong and fairly light as well.

^Depends on your drop, offset, camber and tire size you get.

Mine is a 18x10 +28. Angel's looks to be somewhere in the low to mid 30's I'm guessing. If it is you may not need a fender roll in the rear, but if you get 255/40 tires you will have to grind off some frame material in the front wheel well to get it to turn without hitting the frame.

Forgestars F14 Gunmetal on Brilliant Black

Hi all,

Finally got my Gunmetal Forgestars from Rishie, and got tires mounted on them this weekend and thought I'd share:

(4) Forgestar F14 Gunmetal 18x10 +42mm Offset on Kumho Ecsta MX 275-35 :boink:

An interesting tidbit, I weighed my old set of rims (Sportmax Staggard) and the Forgestars, and saved a total of 1-2lbs up front and 4 lbs in the rear.

Race Roots 09-06-2010 09:36 AM

Nice!

Endless Rotaries 09-06-2010 01:10 PM

Looks great Ev. BTW I responded to your email.

The Falkens are probably not full tread either. Not too mention Kumho MX are heavy ass tires.

In terms of PURE WHEEL weight difference you should see about 3-4lbs per corner no doubt. I've sold several sets of those sportmaxx wheels and know their brick like qualities.

Rishie

SPHINX144 09-08-2010 03:00 PM

so my forgestars in lbakc mate finally arrived. They are 18x10 et 38+. Now I need to buy a set of decent tires that are reasonably priced while providing good all around performance.
Currently my car has yokohamas 245/40, I was wondering if this would work out while I save more money for a good set of high performance tires. they still have some thread left, I'd say about 40%.
please, make some recommendations.

The Reverend 09-08-2010 03:05 PM

i had some yokohama a13s on my 18x10 f14s for a while and they worked fine but I was definitely not performance driving. I now have some 245 Falken RT615s and would say the stretch is a little bit less.

Ideally imo you would want to go for some 265/35s but that is a lot of tire for an NA RX8

SPHINX144 09-08-2010 03:38 PM

Right now Im researching wheels at tirerack, taking into consideration weight, over all performance and price. The bridgestone potenza RE760 and hankook v12 are on the top of my list.

Atilla 09-08-2010 03:45 PM

I'd go with the v12's in 265/35's for performance.

You can squeeze 275's in there too if you'd like but you'll probably need to shave the tab. (and roll of course)

Endless Rotaries 09-13-2010 10:10 PM

FYI, if any of the recent purchasers got ball seat wheels forgestar has agreed to pay to and from shipping to have them machined as cone seat.

Please contact me if this is something you want to to do.

I can not find what lugs you can use for these wheels. Anyone know where I can get a set of lugs for under $100 in grey or gunmetal...maybe black?

I should be ordering the Forgestars soon...I hope... :evil_laug

What would look best on a Titanium Rx8 with Gunmetal forgestars...hmmmm.

cavemancan 09-21-2010 01:34 AM

Is Infini FC using the stock lug's?

Will these work?

http://www.amazon.com/Muteki-Black-S...050411&sr=1-67

Endless Rotaries 09-21-2010 01:53 AM

I have the Muteki in stock if you want those. They are perfect. Ideally a tuner style lugnut such as the muteki is best. Some offsets you can run 19mm sockets, but other offsets require a 17mm socket. Don't ask it just is.

If any of you guys want Muteki just let me know. you'll get it for that price shipped most likely.

Thanks, Rishie

Endless Rotaries 09-21-2010 01:56 AM

Oh as for gunmetal 5zigen ProRacer lugnuts. Lightweight but expensive. $150 MSRP, still cheaper than Ray's though.

Just get them when you buy wheels so you can the better price on lugnuts.

http://5zigenusa.com/products/custom...t/nutt_gun.jpg

Endless Rotaries 09-21-2010 01:58 AM

Infini is using specific lugnuts because Forgestar did not drill his wheels as a cone seat. Please disregard the lugnuts he is using.
