Where in Aus to buy Mazdaspeed kit?

Hi, was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction..
I wana purchase the full mazda speed kit ( Replica ), but dont want to end up with to many fitment problems, so if you know of somewhere selling good molds would be big help.

Also, should i purchase original Front bar to ensure it sits inline with bonnet? Or are the molds ok depending who you buy through?

All help aprreciated very muchly..

Carmate is the only one - don't think there is good fitting ... (not sure) :dunno:

I suggest dig deep to get a genuine MazdaSpeed one from Japan. Much nicer

MissyK 01-04-2007 06:58 PM

Jetspeed

Carmate

and

Panther aftermarket

takahashi 01-04-2007 07:07 PM

What is the difference between Jetspeed and Panther when they use the "bloody" same car in the photo

EZZY 01-04-2007 07:10 PM

there's alot of mucking around with the replica kit, especially the front bar.
they all came from carmate's suppliers anyway, so might as will go straight to the source.
hope you are still getting the gen1 version from the original mould ;-)

Xcesive8 01-04-2007 07:42 PM

Hmmm ok thanx for that..

I guess the difference with replicas, could be that one brand is made out of an original mazdaspeed kit, where as others could have been made from a mold of poor quality. But if your saying there all the same but jus sold by different companys then ok..
Think ill go Original front bar, and jus get the rest Replica, what u think?

EZZY- What do you mean by gen 1 kit? I never new they had brought out another version. Got any pics, from what you said im guessing its ugly?

MissyK 01-04-2007 08:03 PM

I think all 3 suppliers use the kit anyway, like i think 1 of them makes it and sells it amongst each other.

just pricing may be different i spose?

depends how much u wanna spend....... replica can be put on, its just up2 the panel beater to do the good job adjusting it and doing ensuring colour matching is correct! hope u dont have a VR?

in short... i meant gen1 as in first couple 100 of kits produced from that mould... after that, the mould will change shape etc.... so the fitment will be crap.....

Rotor Convert 01-04-2007 10:29 PM

Bruce makes spoilers for Alfa's and he chucks his moulds after 10 spoilers. I bet the aftermarket guys hammer them. Ezzy is right...get the genuine part as the other might cost the same in mods and fitting and fiddling as well as heartache....what colour do you have??

Nice to see another 8 in NT!!

Yeah ok, Genuine seems to have everyones vote.. Genuine it is..
Thanx for the help guys an girls.

05 Silver..

yellowrx8inoz 01-09-2007 10:33 PM

I've done genuine via Japanparts and I love it! The extra cost of buying and importing is offset by the (fantastic) factory paint job meaning you can bolt it all straight on when it arrives. If you need help/advice about buying and fitting I'm happy to oblige.

We've supplied every Color, to UK, USA, Australasia, and have yet to have a complaint about fitment or Color match for any MAZDASPEED parts

PM me for a quote for the Rear Wing...

I agree with that Kall, so far as it goes.

But sometimes the combination of a cheaper price for the parts themselves can make the US shipping cost worthwhile. For example, none of the Japanese parts places I looked at could get my MS springs and shocks landed cheaper than the deal I got from OnlineMazdaParts.com. That's why I went with them.

Don't know who supplied you your information about import costs, but according to OZ Customs, Auto Parts, which are an 8701- 8708 Tariff number, have 10% import tax into Australia

From our experience, an average Clearance fee is AU$100 for an import entry; IF you decide to use a broker instead of making the declaration yourself

************************************************** **************

Let's look at the Math cleared at an OZ Port for the MAZDASPEED Kit, (less trunklid spoiler ) sent Seafreight ( takes about 6 weeks )

091-012-001 FRONT NOSE 10-15 days Sunlight Silver Metallic /#67
1 JP \156,700.00 AU $1,672.84
091-012-002 SIDE SKIRT SET 10-15 days Sunlight Silver Metallic /#67
1 JP \109,300.00 AU $1,166.83
091-012-003 REAR UNDER SPOILER
Material: Polypropylene, NO application ... more 10-15 Sunlight Silver Metallic /#67
1 JP \109,300.00 AU $1,166.83
Parts Total JP \375,300 AU $4,006.50

LESS 12.5% Club Discount: 328,388JPY/ AU$3,505.69

Your freight is sent Fully Insured.

(3) To Seaport: JP \37,082.00 AU $395.87 ( about 6 weeks )

Total to Port with Seafreight: AUS$3,901.56
ADD 10% for Import Tax: 390.20
AUS$ 4,291.80

ADD 10% GST ( I'm told if you are GST registered, under certain circumstances you *may* be able to claim this amount back )

AUS$4,720.98

Add $100 for brokers fee to arrange Customs clearance

AUS$4,820.98, landed + cleared, Tax paid

The AUS$/JPY Exchange rate is subject to change, but that's the rate as of today ( Jan. 18th 2007 )

I would suggest that's *extremely* competitive

Thanks Graham. I'll remember that when considering any further parts required (none under consideration atm - I'm not in the market for bodykit bits).
