Hi all,
Had a read through here and there, but haven't found what I'm looking for!
What ECU's are people using with the Custom Turbo/Supercharger installations? are they piggy back etc?

I used TSI (now known as PowerMod), we were the first to plug & pray with one of those. We put it on the shelf until FI, as we felt the gains to be had were not worth the effort at the time.
Then we used Motec cause of Phil's experience and expertise with them, particularly in Motorsport. We were the first to piggy back the Motec with the factory computer in the RX-8. Phil has also run a Renesis with a Motec "standalone" down the 1/4.
Ciao is using the Exede, a ChipTorque associated product. Mazda Australia's Turbo RX-8 project also used this solution.
Interceptor-X is a Microtech.
3 products from 3 Aussie companies
Cheers,
Hymee.

Great stuff guys - thanks for all of this.
Can we have some rough costs on these? (don't worry about the MoTeC, I know its price).
I think the market is after an ecu of some sort that is easy to install, and I'm assuming works along side the Factory ECU and other bits! also that it can be tuned nicely. I know that not many of these will be up there with the flexibility of the MoTeC system. But how close are some of these, and their costs etc.?
Many thanks!!!

I would say, if I go with a SuperCharger, such as Hymee's, then I will use the one he recommends. Same goes true if I go with RP or any other manufacturer. Then you are using the one they used for development and tuning. This is a no brainer for me, since I am not too up to date and automotive finesse. IMO

Colin you are glad to know that it is HKSless in Australia; and there are not many places tune HKS V pro. I think there is only one shop in Sydney that does that.
Yes Colin you are in Australian forum

You can have overseas parts like the TRUST/GReddy tubro but you still need to tune it with local management system - which is more familiar with by some local tuners.
e.g. Melbourne - MoTeC and Microtech.

If money was no object , Go the Motec ,its awesome .You dont have to keep the Maf happy as Others ECU's do
When doing my research for Management , I went with a known brand that enjoyed success with the design ( Mazda Motor Sport Turbo RX8 ) . No point reinveting the wheel
The Exede is powerful and compact . It allows 4800 indivudual adjustments over fuel, load and ignition , and also gives you the power to run separate extra injectors with its/thier own map ....Cool stuff
OZZY OZZY OZZY !!! oi oi oi !!
Ciao

Yeah, guess that is what I'm trying to gauge really. There are some guys here in the UK doing Turbo Conversions and are looking for decent ECU's that have been tried, tuned and tested on proper road going RX-8s.
They are watching this thread of course.
