UK Spotting Update.
Well, day five of the three week trip and despite the cold start managed to get sunburned yesterday cruising around London.
We are staying in a flat in Chelsea and have only spotted 4 RX8s in London so far. Sure is an"impressive" area, we are a street back from Harrods and the motor metal around is mindblowing. From our window looking down onto the square there are 3 Fazza's 2 Porsche Cayennes, plus 3 other assorted Porshes, 2 X5's and a brace of Beamers, Astons and Mercs. Of the 25 odd cars around the sqaure there is only one Ford and a small box shaped Toyota. Interestingly I haven't seen a Nissan 350 since leaving Sydney?? Must recommend getting appartments in London vs a hotel, our place is cheaper than two mainroad hotel rooms, quiet and bloody marvelous. Too easy with the munchkins in tow. I've seen more Lambos, Bently's, Astons and AMG badges in the last couple of days than the previous last couple of years! And lastnight on the tellie a Topgear "best of" episode that's of the series we haven't seen yet!! LOL!! The one thing I've noticed about the 8's is only one of the 4 had any sort of bling and that was strakes. Rest are bog standard. We pick up the "Passat Estate" on Wednesday for the trip up north to "sunny" Scotland. Should be a great driving experience if not a great "DRIVING" experience. (And unlike others on the forum, no fear, I'm only temporarily joining the VW scene!) cheers :beer05: Mike |
Lots of auto eyecandy in London. Have a great time
Make sure that Passat is a diesel, or you'll be spending all your apartment savings on premium unleaded :) |
Thanks for the postcard Mike. :)
