Is it true that 80 or so Turbo RX-8's have been ordered from Mazda Oz?
Hi all,
A little birdie told me that Mazda Australia (with Alan Horsely) are in the process of building up to 100 of the Turbo RX-8's? I think it is the original RX-8 that was at the motorshow last year? This post on www.rotarynews.com : http://rotarynews.com/node/view/453 Anyone have anymore gossip? IF SO - AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Personally i Doubt the rumours , but if they do get them it wont be cheap you might as well get a kit and do the upgrades yourself ;)
Alan hursley as well as Joe signoreilly from rotormaster as far as i here have not been succesfull in tuning the cars , and getting over the ECU difficulties . cheers michael |
Hi mate
I wish it is true :o too. Recently we spied a vented hood RX-8 which is allegedly has a "blower" under the bonnet. Must go to Mazda tomorrow. The only problem we (in Australia) do not have anything to tune the tubro besides Motec/Microtech, both of which need a lot of training and I doubt that Mazda will train the RX-8 mechanics again --- too much of an investment. If so I think the car will be $100,000 ^-^ |
And the insurance would be?????

There are safe suburbs in Sydney??? I'm impressed, but then I haven't been there for two years or so... ;)

Hi Glenn
You've no doubt seen this link My (independent) Mazda mechanic, who has a good relationship with Alan Horsley says this is another test mule, with the mechanicals of the earlier car, plus enhanced brakes (Brembos), and there is quite a lot of support within MA for a limited run RX-8 SP, drawing on what they did with the MX-5...but I think it's still some way from any decision  |
Im almost paying that for insurance now Taka :D
