Hello everyone,

We were made aware of this issue by the organiser of this group buy as well as some of his customers around the first week of April but didnt realise that it was still concerning evertyone so much. Our priority is to make sure our customers are satisfied where possible, so we thought it was best if we piped in directly as we only just found out the extent of some people dissatisfaction. There are many boards and forums around the world that we participate on but we often don't know what's happening on them all until someone lets us know.

We very much appreciate everyone's feedback, support and helpful hints and most of all, your patience in this matter. We would like to assure you that we are doing everything we can to sort this out. First, some background, when we first developed the sway bars for Mazda RX8, we did not use D-bush clamps as we did not see the need for them. The bars were tested on a number of cars, without any sideway movement of the sway bar. We were satisfied with the design and hence these products were released for production and sale.

Part Number - BMF49
Application - Mazda RX8 FE 07/2003-on, FRONT
Specification - 27mm fixed, replacement type
Whiteline RRP - AU$183 (including GST)

Part Number - BMF49Z
Application - Mazda RX8 FE 07/2003-on, FRONT
Specification - 27mm 2-way adjustable, replacement type
Whiteline RRP - AU$258 (including GST)

Part Number - BMR77
Application - Mazda RX8 FE 07/2003-on, REAR
Specification - 18mm fixed, replacement type
Whiteline RRP - AU$183 (including GST)

Part Number - BMR77Z
Application - Mazda RX8 FE 07/2003-on, REAR
Specification - 18mm 2-way adjustable, replacement type
Whiteline RRP - AU$258 (including GST)

As soon as we learned that some customers were having issues with their sway bars moving, we decided to improve on our original design by adding our clamps to all subsequent production. We also agreed to supply these clamps to all customers with our original design sway bars. A complication, for us, was that our clamp kit was still in development / production and so we were not able to supply these straight away. However, we did have our temporary clamp kit, that although may not look pretty, it does work very effectively. This kit was offered immediately. In fact we have sent out a number of these to some customers already.

Few quick notes on our new clamps. These are specially designed for the job and work extremely well. Fitment is also very simple. Contrary to what has been mentioned, there are no special tools required for installation. We use "end cutting pliers" but equally you can use multi-grips or conventional large pliers. Also, and as confirmed by some members, the clamp installation can be done with the sway bar on the car, without the need to remove and reinstall.

Our production version clamps for front and rear sway bars are ready for despatch now we can send out the 10 sets on the list we have from the group buy organiser. However, we understand that some people may not be happy with this solution and are concidering returning the bars to us. Can those people please let us know as soon as possible so we don't include them in the clamp distribution list, either via the list or directly at support@whiteline.com.au

We appreciate the RX8 communities early take up of the product and would like to congratulate you on securing such a competitive price, we are still fielding phone calls from other customers about it :-) Again, please make sure you return the product to your supplier for credit if you are not happy.

Thanks again for your patience and understanding.

Regards,
Wojtek Rogulski

Although I am not one of your white mice in the project, I think I would be satisfied of your PR spin. This is well performed I think

There is always the price to be first. You see.

Having just ordered my own set of Whiteline sways I looked for and read through this old thread.

Oh my, the angst caused by the clamp furore.

Having read my own contribution, I've got two things to say:

1. Being first isn't always so great.

2. Never say never. :o

Having said that, damn you guys got a good deal on them. Best I could do was $240 flat (usually $265) each.

Actually if you combine your two tenets you come close to mine - never buy the first version/model of anything new... Cars/Appliances etc... I always wait for the next shipment - these days they never get anything perfectly right the first time... Look at the starter motor business with the early rx-8s... Ours came with the bigger starter from new (then again we still have the exploding fuel tank problem)...

Bugger that! Miss out on all the excitement and experimentation?? Never!....I've always been an early adopter...and I wear my scars with pride :o

My only tenet is that if you are an early adopter, don't whinge about it. Constructive criticism and problem solving -- yes; whinging....NO! :p

so i finally picked up my non-adjustables from my local distributor ... 166 days after ordering them.

went to pick them up and got handed literally 2 bars and 4 bushings and 2 packets of grease. no lateral lock kit for either bar. no box. no instructions.

maybe i could melt the bars down and make a nice ashtray.

your customs ppl must had a field day and a half with the box and instructions
ask your local distributor why no box and instruction... sounded odd
otherwise send whiteline.com.au (Wayne or Wojtek) an email.

Some direction please

I know this is not the right thread, but I would like to know if anybody can direct me to where I can find a thread that can show me how to replace the Sway Bar end links for the front and rear.
