How surprising.... ... a misprint?!

Leading is NGK 9 and Trailing is NGK 7 - seems to be the other way round?!?!?!

Certainly when I took out mine it was marked 7 on the L plug and 9 on the T plugs.

Calling Mazda for you now in Melbourne...... it is ..... $75. :( each

Taka i was quoted $78 for trailing plugs and $ 44 for leading ones

Also according to this you need 3 different type of plugs .

1 RE7A-L leading side

2 RE6A-L leading side

1 RE9B-T TRAILING side

You have to match the fuel that you are using. You are using 7L and 9T anyway, why go hotter plugs? Unless you are not fanging your car anymore than 6L will do.

If you have seen my plugs the L plugs came off second best to the T plugs.

Just go stock, or you are a rev head, get the Denso or NGK racing plugs which are 9L and 10T.

As I have said in another thread, Mazda Australia has replaced my spark plugs with modified version, to reduce exhuast gas emissions... not sure what type of modified plugs they have given me...

Dealer said that they have now placed upgraded plugs in mine, as well as upgraded starter motor and upgraded battery. Apparently a directive from MA that older rx's are getting these upgrades to help with starting issues.

I checked the resistance on the 4 plugs in my car and found 3 to be at 3.9 kilohms and 1 to be a 5 kilohms. Wondering if this could cause a mis? The spec range is 3 to 7.5 kilohms.

It's in spec, so I would look elsewhere for cause of misfire. Like the coils.
