RHD Heater Hose

Pardon the invasion of the Australian thread, but since you guys drive RHD RX-8, I was wondering if you could help me out. I just got the Racing Beat metric gauge kit and need to install the water temp adapter into the "heater hose". Instructions are for LHD where heater hose appears to be on the left side of the car (looking into the open bonet). I'm thinking the RHD cars, the heater hose is on the right side (passanger side). I suspect its the piece of rubber that makes a horizontal 180 degree turn close to the wiper fluid. Right side of the 180 turn goes into the car. Would I be right? This hose seems to warm up quickest when I turn the car on. Don't want to cut the wrong hose. LOL...

Heater hose photos welcome too :-)

Thanks in advance!

Tom.

PM Taka, I think he has a set of aftermarket gauges in his car. Maybe he knows where you have to tap the hose?

That's a good idea. Will do.

I cannot see the thing and take a pic sorry.

See that bracket above?

I don't have to cut hose because I use one of these direct replacement for the temp gauge sensor.

Find that connector and put your racingbeat connector there. Then secure it.

Thanks Taka. I don't remember seeing something like that. Car is at the shop getting a new alignment right now so can't check it out tonight. I can always run down to the dealer to ask them in the worst case. Don't suppose anyone has an electronic copy of the shop manual for a RHD car? Its all Japanese over here which is not so useful to me :-)

water hoses will be on the same side for left and right hand drives.

makes sense or you would have to manufacture a whole different engine block for different markets ;)

Installed the Racing Beat gauge kit this weekend. Asked the dealer just to make sure I was chopping the right hose. Looking into the engine bay, on the LHD cars its on the left side. Its rather long and slopes downwards. I've no photo but thats what the image looked like on the installation instructions. On RHD cars, its on the right side, just by the wiper fluid holder. Its pretty short, horizontal and makes a little 180 loop. I'm Attaching a photo for future reference. I think I have the wiper fuild holder removed in these photos. The kit is basically made for the LHD cars but it installed pretty well. The heater hose is a little short, so its not the best job. Need to find a longer hose to clean it up...

Thanks for the pics. Please keep us informed how well it all operates. That is the RB mechanical guages and functionality of the setup within the ash tray area itself.

Cheers

sorry my mistake; I was thinking of taka's and my setup were the sensor is directly in the radiator hose.
